Our intention was that eventually humanity would grow up to the point where they weren't needed any longer. Largely this happened (that's more IC than OOC BTW).

Partly what's happened is that on *this* timeline, we didn't come back. On other timelines we might have, but on this one, we wanted to see what would happen with a couple of centuries without our guidance.

Something else to consider; the other thing we're seeing is what happens to a second generation nova with 3 centuries of peaceful development. We have two novas here who are probably Q10. They are integrated into society. This is a good thing.

A Q10 nova is always going to make waves, call him first-of-equals or call him dictator, but short of killing him Mike is going to hit Q10. Ditto Joani's kids, ditto Steve and Amber's kids if Andrew ever deals with that sterility thing.

Lorean, Morgan and Meri know. It wasn't done in secret, but it was private in the since that no one else was there. Meri can choose to share that info or perhaps Lorean/Morgan will bring it up when everyone gathers to discuss plans.

*After* a big medical exam, Steve will go out and try to meet the world and survey our works... basically try to get a feel for what this world has & lacks... it's successes and failures.

Of course what Steve isn't mentioning is that spending 20 years to get back to where we are, i.e. no cure, might not be a good thing.

Nah, Morgan isn't saying it for being polite, but 10 years and he could have a cure. He's been closely following Andrew's research after all.

Btw, I hope you guys like the way I set up the skill to cure taint in terms of mechanics. Of course you won't know what those mechanics are for quite a while yet until Andrew has fully developed his research.

Oh, and Jameson... if Andrew's knowledge gets to the point of fully developing the cure to it's maximum potential, I wonder what else he could do with that knowledge? hmm...

In OOC game terms Andrew has bought off 2 dots of taint and added 2 dots of M-Int (now M-Int 5), 1 dot of M-wits (with multitasking), and a 2nd dot of Clone. He's sharper than ever and aside from his homunculi he is free of mental taint/aberrations now.

Anyone have any objections to me closing out this chapter and updating with the opening to the next one?

BTW, I sent out xp for the current chapter. If I don't hear from anyone stating otherwise I will post the next chapter tomorrow. Hopefully someone will post in the current chapter telling Lorean to go ahead and make the jump.
