Do androids sleep?
The answer is simply, "It depends on their programming."
But to answer in referrence to Eve as she is an android in your company, when she was on Earth working in MoonDark she was relentlessly at the helm there monitoring the sensors and directing the rest of the Keepers. She never slept.
When she was acting among the rest of the Rathien's, her native species (or at least the species that created her), she did sleep at regular intervals to better fit in with the populace. She has likely done the same while with you all in that she has taken the sleeping pose while keeping in touch with sensors and such.
Eve will act in whatever manner needed to put one at ease around her, as it is in her programming to do so and not to take charge or overly influence sentients in some manner. So with some of you acting with nova stamina and rarely sleeping, Eve has not likely displyed the need to really sleep.
The only time she will NEED to sleep is after some large quantities of data coming in or after some extreme levels of damage taken.
Eve is not realy mechanical in any manner. She is what some might call a replicant, or Alterant Replicant by most Houses nomenclature.
IN more advanced societies, there are advanced medical techniques that can clone or create biologics (ie, humans) from small dna samples. Sometimes this DNA is injected into a female egg and then placed into a woman for maturation. BY loose terms, this procedure would result in a transhuman being born but the terms has been loosely cast in this case. Following is a definition of various terms.
- Android: A completely artificial biologic with no organic material. </li>
- Transhuman: The result of two DNA?s being mixed together and then left to birthing and maturation as normal. Sometimes there is some alteration done to the genetic code (to program certain traits or abilities) prior to implanting it into the female of the species and sometimes the resulting fetus is not even brought to term inside a female womb and is instead matured in a lab. This reason has called for the transhumans to be classified by numbers up to 26 pending on their maturation process and innate abilities. </li>
- Alterant Replicant: aka; Replicants. The result of scientific research and manipulating of completely artificial ?organic? matter in order to make a life-form. Alterant Replicants are usually implanted with traits that make them better than the host race such as increased memory or strength. Replicants are also usually ?programmed? with behavioral inhibitors to allow the host race to subjugate them.</li>

Eve was created nearly 400 years before the Rathiens sent people back to ancient earth to stop the temporal tampering. So Eve is about 12,900 years old.
This is her first body although it has been through numerous healing or reconstruction cycles. She has never looked any different physically.
