I've always been very impressed by Ashnod.

But I think part of restart is not grandfathering in this sort of thing. My expectation is Ashnod would/will be on the short list for a Q upgrade if and when that gets re-introduced.

An Ashnod, or more specifically a Kimberly who is the player of Ashnod, will be recognized. A player whose concerns are limited to their own character and stories will be recognized as well.

Beyond that I can only say I don't believe anyone is being punished.

When in doubt, my aim is to err on the side of caution. We can add more power later. Removing it once granted would be terribly hard to do.

I'm in favor of allowing Merits to be purchased with BP, provided that the selection of Flaws does not generate any. (I may have said this previously, or elsewhere, but as it's pertinent in the most recent discussion I thought I'd mention it anyway.) I'm also fine with Aberrations, provided they're roleplayed as such, along with the "Special Effect" Body Mod for those with concepts which would formerly have required dots of Taint but which shouldn't necessarily have counted as Aberrations.

So the last day has gone a long way to setting my concerns at ease.

I would just like to check in and make sure there is no lingering beef. Nova? Jack? Rev? Are we good?

Sure, since you asked nicely. First of all don't try to convey it was never personal since there were personal attacks. Secondly, don't treat someone as a nemesis as that only leads to antagonism. Thirdly, if there is regret for the manner in which concerns were conveyed then communicate that unreservedly because you'll be talking to someone who was attacked personally and was treated as a nemesis with their very motivation questioned. Next don't presume none of the above happened as reality doesn't retcon itself to our desires. Finally, do communicate in a manner that would minimize a repeat of 1-4. That means if a public posting can't be made without concern for how others will see and interpret, a private message should be sent.

Despite being willing to answer this in a manner I feel will be helpful to you, I want you to understand a thing or two. Nova and Velvet are much nicer people than I am. Seph is unabashedly professional when it is his responsibility to be so, a perspective I understand but do not share in this instance as I am not a moderator. You and I locked horns earlier not because I am Nova's friend or Seph's. It happened because I did not like what you were doing. Because this entire affair has been about the directions of the community,and I know they will go their own way regardless of what I say, I chose to exercise restraint in what I said to you and how I said it.

But do not "interpret" me. I did not say you wouldn't be banished or censured, even though that is the case. What I said was the community will forgive and even forget if the problem is fixed.

You know , if I didn't feel like I was being asked to abase myself before a Queen before, I REALLY do now.

There are alot of you reading this who I have gamed with a long time. Some of you may know that I can be a bit uppity at times and overreact and its true that this has been one of those times.

Id like to think that over the last year to three I have come to gain some respect from you. For my roleplaying ability, general good nature and for some the love of a rousing debate (looking at you Alex Green)...even when we disagree sometimes.

I have even been a very well respected mod on our sister site.

The audacity here really staggers me, almost as much as how butt hurt Nova is. My guess is that she isnt butt hurt really.

The only reason I can think is that she isn't really upset, and this is about having control over someone else. Perhaps because she cant control her own emotions.

Also I have been quite pleased with how the discussion has progressed. Some interesting ideas have been put forth and it looks like via Quantum we start with 60 NPs after all!

As for my participation, I believe it takes 2 out of 3 mods to make that decision. The rules from Nova herself were wise enough to state that 1 mod alone cannot have that power. I believe Seph and Fox are willing to alow me, though if not please do correct me gentlemen.

Failing that I can always wait some indeterminate time and i am nothing if not patient, to create a new account and enjoy the forum, unless Nova gets so upset she blocks the forum to any newcomers, which I think would only prove what I have been saying.

But you know what??? And this is the really awesome part!!!

I would even enjoy playing with Nova [gasp!] or one of her alter ego's. I am capable of seperating my characters from my self and words online from my emotional core.

I attempted to resolve this quietly, Overload, which is why I sent you a PM. So that no more attention had to be called to this unfortunate fracas, because frankly, it's kind of embarrassing for everyone involved. The mere fact that we're here is a big fucking drag.

You took that very well-intentioned aim at discretion and decided, instead, to project it publicly. In short, you published a private communicae in a public forum, which says to me that you cannot be trusted. Not with discretion, or with anything, really. Let me make this abundantly plain: if I wanted that address to be made public, I would have posted it here.
