In the meanwhile, I've been assigned the task of assigning all of you the task of inventing a new naming convention for the three story areas of the site: OpNet 2018, OpNet 2010, and OpNet 200X. What Chosen is looking for is a set of names which describe the three separate eras in a way which makes their nature easily understood by a newcomer to the site.

Ready. . . think!

You could put the 3 under their own section called "Cooperative Fiction.

Or something like...

"2018: Gods Among Men"

Unfortunately, it's hard for me to pin an identity on either 2010 or the new forum.

I thought of a couple of things, then thought again and came to the realization my sense of humor is inappropriate to the task of naming conventions. Velvet came up with a good one for 2018 though. I could live with that.

2010 "Young Gods"

200X "Gods Reborn"

Not sure if that's clear enough, but otherwise I like it.

Not a big fan of calling them gods, but that's just the religious upbringing getting twitchy.

I don't particularly cotton to the idea of appending the "gods" thing to the 200X and 2010 forums. The idea of both of them is kind of that the characters aren't super-powered uber-beast demigods. I think it muddles the central theme of those forums.

It's a play on one of the themes of the game being "What would you do with the power of a God?"

2010 is low power now, but in a few years some of the folks there could be quite powerful.

At 48 xp per year, early 2010 characters should surpass 200x in another few months.

200X - Heroes and Villains
2010 - Demigods in Lust
2018 - Whom the Gods Would Detroy (i.e. Rule 34 for Powergamers).

What?

One of the biggest problems with this is that, because of the diffusion of plot threads in 2010 and 2018, nailing any unifying theme to make a title off of is a real pain. But, here's a shot...

To play on a couple of the themes of the last few months in both 2010 and 2018, and stay out of the religious imagery a bit (200x has a lack of actual posts to base things on)..

2010 - A Practical Guide to a Finer World
2018 - Cynics and Martyrs

200X - The Benevolent Monarchy
2010 - Singularity's Republic
2018 - The Lord of the Flies

I like "Rising Stars" for the 2010 boards and "Ultimate Aberrant" for 200X.

I'm not sure I'd call 200X "Ultimate Aberrant," purely because these are intended to show newcomers, at a glance, what the forum is about. That one's a bit misleading to someone who's never been here and, perhaps, has little experience with Aberrant.

You raise a good point Vv. I was just making a tounge-and-cheek reference to Ultimate Marvel.

We could also just call it 200X: Reboot!

I like the Aberrant Zero suggestion for 200x. For 2010 I think Rising Stars works well, and Absolute Power sounds like a great name for 2018. Those get my votes.

I like Absolute Power for 2018, 200X Reboot for 200X, and Rising Stars for 2010.

I've been calling 200X Ultimate Aberrant since the idea floated as well so I will get behind that.
