I've had a fascination with different types of roleplaying over the years. As we build new technology, we begin to find new ways to bend that technology to our roleplaying desires, thus the change from tabletop, to BBS, to chat, to forum. It's natural that us roleplayers, who tend to be more tech-savvy than the general public, build new forms of roleplaying to fit the new technologies we see.
Now, recently I've been having a lot of fun with wikis. You know, websites that anyone can edit, regardless of who they are. And it's occured to me that there have been very few attempts to bring roleplaying to the wiki. Admittedly, it's a tad difficult, considering the medium. Roleplayers use wikis all the time, but for the most part it's as an easy-to-update storage area for their gaming paraphernalia, not for the actual roleplaying itself.
But, I had a brilliant idea - Why not make the roleplaying the act of editing the wiki itself? Why not make a roleplaying world where the rules are that of a wiki?
And so, after much thought about how cool the concept is, the website is finally live.
Deiludum is now online and awaiting players. The idea? What if you were a God, in the omnipotent sense of the term? Able to change or create anything you wish? What kind of world would you make? What kind of myths would arise?
It's a little bare at the moment, but that's because there's only three people there. If you're interested, feel free to hop on board...
