Won't Iron Will prevent someoen from wiping out Omar's mind or killing him that way? I was under the impression that it does. (with an expediture of Willpower of course) Maybe. Maybe not. If Iron Will requires an action and isn't reflexive, then he still gets one solid Telepathic hit... and if he's playing around with Mastery then that's probably enough. In theory he could be throwing around 17+ succ, so after mental defenses and willpower opposition he's still got 12. Iron Will would curb stop Domination (your first action is spent breaking it rather than following it). But Telepathy might mind wipe you and Mental Blast either deeply KO's you (doing lots of brain damage) or (more likely) slays you out right. Would the Impervious extra help. I know it is for his armor, but it would be just like the Hardbody Enhancement. Not sure if it would change the damage to lethal or not, but it would still cause a lot of damage.
He might need Impervious to his Psy Shield. It is something I have been thinking about getting for Omar. Impervious wouldn't do anything here because Armor does nothing. It rocks against Energy or Physical, but this isn't either. Similarly, INV:Physical+Impervious wouldn't help against an Armor Piercing Q-Bolt (Energy) attack because the defense never gets used to start with. And note that while Hardbody (or Psi-Shield+Imp) presumably would drop a Mental-Blast+Agg effect back into just a normal Mental-Blast... but that doesn't reduce the shear number of succ he's got. We've seen normal Mental Blast do brain damage after the bashing damage wraps around and with 12+ succ over defenses that's a real problem.

Watch yourself Courier, you are making assumptions based on the cannon psions from trinity. Big time. What I put up there should be considered the best case, but it does have the advantage that it explains why they're so careful with novas. Something else to consider here too, we're not dealing with a generic psion (who by the way can spend transformation points on Dex and Wits to increase their init). We're dealing with an actual alien. So far said alien hits the radar as being exceptionally long lived (immortal) and not especially quick witted, but we're building theories on very little information. Assuming we are dealing with a Doyen then while everything I've said is true (or even more so, the Doyen probably have as a racial handycap that flaw where you roll two dice and take the lower as your init bonus)... it might not matter. The Doyen are bodyless and might even have access to Mastery x2. They are vunerable to quantum... but what that means in practice has never to my knowledge been established because none of the PCs who have encountered them have been novas.
