Tobias Joy is the son of a youth pastor named Gareth Joy fron the Joyous Harvest Ministries located in Manhattan, New York City, and his wife Mary. From a very early age he was indoctrinated into his father's personal brand of conservative Christanity, but never really bought it. When he was 19 he converted to Buddhism (and quietly erupted) durning a night of intense spiritual study and introspection. He left soon after, unable to stand living there, and journeyed to Chicago. He's currently living in Chicago Illinois, working as bartender. His sister Anne doesn't approve.
