I'm not sure if it's subterfuge if it's true. As far as I can tell, you didn't actually lie at any point in there.

People's bodies are being hijacked and it probably does pain you.

I cannot recall if Mox is toxic to baselines, if it is not Andrew will just dope the maid with some mox.

Of course this assumes I can create a gland within my body to create a dose of mox on the fly. If not I'll edit that whole thing, just let me know...

Mox is exceptionally toxic to baselines. All the nova drugs are.

As for creating a baseline poison, that might work, it's Fox's call. In theory it was only ScarCrow who gave his nova resistance to his hosts although he does distort the record. But I wasn't kidding about Boost being common, it is.

And for the record, if any mental effects come Steve's way he'll spend a willpower point to resist them.

That's what I figured, and since Andrew has never encountered this power he's no clue if he could safely dose her up.

Still, go Swiss Army Finger!

Edit: Sweet, I figured I could do it for normal stuff but this is exceptionally more usefull, especially in combat!

Aberrant book, pg. 281 "In baselines, Mox is a deadly poison (each dose inflicts 10-Stamina levels of lethal damage).

I would think that if you couldn't creat Mox naturally (with ShapeShift) you would have brought some auto-injectors with you since our initial fear was that Joani was the problem and had to be dealt with.

On the other hand, since a psiad treats Mox like a baseline, you should have brought some 'normal' sedatives as well. You should also be able to create a natural sedative too - maybe an Opiate of some kind.

By the way, my knowledge of psiads/psions is a bit limited, I've never played one in Adventure! or Trinity. I did create a trinity character once, but that's about it, so please excuse me if I do not handle the psiad exactly correct, I'm winging it on that npc, not that you have met him yet, but for when you do.

Meanwhile, you can tell that the bodysnatcher's host is a baseline.

Ulric and Cody both have Linguistic Genius. I suspect they are at M-Int 1.

Andrew the shapeshifting technologist (ironically) doesn't have any, but I expect that will change soon.

Steve has Mega-Int 2.

I'm not sure about Joani.

Max and Dr. Prime presumably have Mega-Int but they're NPCs and we don't deal with them mostly.

I may only have Int 5 but that's still a whole lotta dice, and yes Mega-Int is on its way sooner rather than later.

I was thinking about this new INTERPOL and how it can be organized, staffed, and run.

We could brainstorm with the operative skills of Investigate, Academics (Law), and Bureacracy. Things like Streetwise, Interrogation, and Biz could come in with our recruiting. Let me know if I'm forgetting/overlooking something.

Unlike the current (RW) INTERPOL, this organization would work under the auspices of the League of Nations and have real police powers, much like a National Police force (FBI here in America).

There would be no 'official' Specials bureau - that is no section dedicated solely to going after Specials, but Special's based crime would fall under their perview.

I was figuring main offices in Vienna(Europe), Chicago (North America), Baghdad (Near East), Lagos (Africa), Hong Kong (Asia), and Rio de Janerio (South America). Main HQ would be in the Hague with the rest of the League. Local offices would be in every city with over a million people (should it be more?).

Sounds like a good plan. Matthew will definitely be for it and learning all the things he is going to need to know to run the agency will keep him very very occupied.

Oh, also figure that Lorean has some mega-int as well though maybe not quite the same way that you guys have it(the ship that is) Lorean the nova has one dot, and Morgan will be buying a dot once xp is awarded thanks to all of the political intrigue and planning he's been doing over the past decade.

I assume that if this new force is comprised of both Specials and baselines that the cases which are belived to be Specials will only go to those operatives and that those reports will fall into a different security rating?

We'll also need to be careful about creating an Internal Affairs that is accountable and capable of dealing with a wide variety of powers.

Huge fan here and that's exactly what I am worried about.

I actually wonder if maybe Andrew should try to invent a machine that can mimic the telepathic ability which would allow the IA to NOT rely on Teeps

Well, the biggest difference was that in the Bab-5 universe, it was the Corp, or drugs. We will have freedom of choice on our side. If a Psi wants to become rich and famous, they go into the private sector. The dedicated ones go into INTERPOL (or so we can hope).

Also, we need to work on Thought Discipline for our Baseline agents, which will help alot. Devices will help too. We shouldn't ignore Teeps as a resource though. If they want to help, let's use them.

In order to make your brave new world work you are going to have to figure out some way to harness the Teeps and prevent them from getting out of control. They will be more numerous than the novas and people are likely to trust them even less than the novas without some good reason not to. In the case of Trinity, they stand against the evil aberrants and are humanities protectors and saviors. If it weren't for that they'd be just as feared or more so than the novas.

Psi Corp is a very good example of how things can turn out if not handled very carefully, and a good example of why both main types of metas and baselines all have to share equally in the government and work together for the benefit of all.

Telepaths in Trinity are STILL one of the most feared of the Psions and the Ministry (the telepathic order) probably has the worst PR. Even the Norça are more loved in general than the Ministry.

That said Between novas and psions I telepathy will be an issue, as will any sort of enhanced senses. Super hearing and x-ray vision will be as problamatic as telepathy in the long run.

Well, we need a way to find them when they cross the line, a way to prove them guilty, and a way to confine them once the courts find them guilty. That means some remote facility, with mostly automated systems and the rest being teep, or teep-resistant guards. Moon Base anyone?

Also, are there any drugs that dampen psi abilities? Is there a way to permanently block a psion/psiads abilities?

I want to avoided a Specials Registration Act. It smacks of racism and is open to abuse.

The more ways we find to empower baselines in catching and dealing with rogue Specials, the better off we will be. Baselines will feel comfortable in their ability to deal with the treats. Specials will have second thoughts about abusing their gifts because they are likely to get caught and imprisoned.

Big B-5 fan. Any police force can get out of hand. With teeps, the likelihood is greater. What do we do about legal protection regarding scanning? Habeas Corpus? These are just a few of a host of issues we need to deal with.

The indoctrination system in place with the education reforms are teaching all children that responsibility and the common good are the highest ideals. The culture and society have to be such that acts of personal ambition at the expense of others is down right taboo. That is the biggest factor in making this world government self perpetuating.

Nah the moon is going to need to be a spaceport before long

besides segregating the special criminals is just as problematic. Granted those criminals will warrent special facilities or equipment but that shouldn't be an issue.

A device that generates a null quantum zone and/or drains a personal quantum pool would work fine, then the specials and the non-specials would be able to be housed in the same facilities.

As for Psions, I cannot honestly recall there being any drugs like a Psion version of Mox. Then again I haven;t played Trinity in .... 8 years? I'll try to review my stuff tonight

Speaking of the moon, how much nuclear materials do I have stored up there Fox? Nuclear power is probably going to be needed as a stepping stone from fossile fuels to other sources while avoiding the greenhouse problems.

In the next few years Andrew will have to "invent" nuclear power and start rolling it out. We also should push solar and wind farms out ASAP

Even if there isn't anything in the books you guys with all your mega int should be able to come up with something.

We know that Noetic energy interferes with quantum and vice versa, that right there is a good start on both answers. At least Lorean has that in her memory banks from when you visited the fascist future timeline. Query her and she'll give you that bit of knowledge.

GAH! I was hoping you wouldn't say that. The PSI-Quantum Interaction is probably the dumbest thing in any of the Æonverse books!

That said I'm sure Andrew can come up with something even with no mega-int he probably still has the best dice pools with 5 Int and 5 Science and 3 Engineering (which will probably go up soon)

Agreed about the Ps-Quantum thing...if that was true there would be no epic battles..the two would cancel each other out rendering both sides powerless.

Re: Nuclear power. Unless you can create clean fusion (which would require Mega Int) forget it. I have serious issues with our RL treatment of Nuclear power. Back when it was invented it was sold to the populace as too cheap to meter. In reality it is the signle most expensive form of energy we deal with including all aspects of clean up and containment..which is basically to store it in places on Earth. Very Bad. Not only that but after taxpayers payed for all these facilities in hopes of cheap power, the governmnet sold us out to private companies...

There are better solutions than Nuclear power, especially in the Nova Age.

Actually, I recently read something on science daily or one of those sites saying there was a new process that can uses a much greater amount of the fuel. Instead of using the nuclear rods and only achieving a 5% return they are supposed to get like 75% or something, meaning all those old spent rods are not quite so spent as we thought. Be great if they get it to work, clear up a big chunk of that waist.

Omar shouldn't worry. Ulric had a few 'ifs' in there, so that Satterfield won't end up as 'Top Cop' unless he works for it and earns it. Mind you, if we could get him some mental defenses, he would be a nearly untouchable operative for the team to work with.

He would owe his position to our guidance and patronage and that goes a long way to assuring loyalty.
