You're doing fine.

And Fox and I posted at the same time.

Yeah don't worry thsi game has been more ROLEplaying than "roll"playing (which is a good thing) so staying in character is good. Andrew had never heard of a nova a few weeks ago and with a week he had erupted, he's still learning about things like dormancy, node pings, attuments, etc.

Might be, I guess it depends on if it's just fire or any raw energy source.

Phill care to give us a physical description? Be nice to you what you look like.

The following googled image is a good aproximate for Elizibeth.

She is very buch for the 20's, while still inline with the clothing for the era. Clothed more functionaly that stylish. While liking clothes like most ladies, she likes her science more. If she dressed up, she would look rather fetching, although nothing compared to nova looks. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Phillip wears a cheap attempt at upper-class clothes, ignoring things like lasse etc. He looks kind of average, especialy with his bad attempt at respectable cloths. He to has black hair and brown eyes.

Neather have any distingishing marks, but a keen eye (or a not so keen ear) can easily place Phillip as Australian and Elizibeth as British.

Phillips accent is not as pronounced as the sterio type, and speaks less 'ocka' than would be expected. Elizibeth on the other hand, while not speaking cockney, corrects people ocasionaly for speaking 'American' (which she doesn't recognise as such, she thinks they are just speaking badly).

If you want more details, please let me know what you want to know.

Edit: and I forgot to mention the great whopping whole in Phillips shirt grin

Very pretty.

RE: Clothes
I think Andrew was offering you old "real" clothes and not eufiber. For that we have to jump to the future.

Indeed I was offering "normal" clothes. Andrew could potentially create some eufiber (he has done it once) but as of yet he is unsure of how exactly he made the living kind. He is more than capable of creating synthetic eufiber which I am guessing the crew has been using with the machinery we loaded to make all manner of textiles for themselves and us.

thanks for the b-day wishes.

nice pic of Elizabeth.

If folks are willing to pay for the Eufiber with xp, I would say that you will be able to create more, but without Matter Creation it would be a very complex and expensive process. Thus you not being able to just pop out batches of it at whim.

Happy B-Day Fox!

RE: Eufiber
In theory we might be able to use Morgan's healing power to branch off other colonies. If it can re-grow hands then it could re-grow cut pieces of eufiber. In practice that's close enough to the edge that without experience it probably won't work. smile

RE: Colors
Just so people don't think Steve can glow multiple colors; Steve's Biolum color is the same Blue-White as Luke's father's blade in the first Star Wars movie. Without biolum his hands (with Claws or Deflection) glow Sith-red.

If both Biolum and Claws are active then his hands glow white-blue but more intensely than the rest of him. So the color from biolum dominates (not mixes) when multiple glows are active.

A little Cheesy but when we start talking about on going plasma weapons that deflect things there's really only one fiction example.

Agreed, it was never my intention to be able to mass produce living eufiber at this stage of the game, even later with Matter Creation willpower gets permanently burned to make something last so that would still "cost exp" in a way.

Well one could make an argument for the energey weapons that were used early on in the original Transformers cartoon but I think that is beside the point, citing a well known peice of pop-culture is a great way to get a particular look across...

example, Andrew's new tendrils are inspired in part by Scorpian's special move from Mortal Kombat and the tentacles that Omega red uses ...

I would guess you are still way past the point where you can pass as baseline from those who know the difference (thus your post), but Omar already stood out in a crowd a lot (big, minority, mega-app) so you didn't lose anything.

I was thinking about posting Omar's character sheet under his profile. I will only do it though, if the ST and the other players approve.

I have no problem with the posting of character sheets, but keep in mind that I don't give flat exp to the group. I base it off participation and subjective factors so people will not be exactly in line with each other on points. Keep that in mind when discussing the posting of sheets. Of course you guys are the ones that have been the most active so you will be pretty close on points, although your characters have come in at different times.

Also, I will not be posting Lorean's sheet as she is a plot device and it is better if there is alway some question as to what her full power set is.

*shrug* We could also post it in more subjective terms

example

Andrew had S4, D5, S5+1

I could post this as Very strong, Supremely nimble, inhumanly resiliant. This conveys a sense of his stats but is somewhat ambiguous to the specific dot ratings.

Personally I could go either way

It doesn't bother me either way. I was just giving warning that if you compare dots with others you won't come up with matching numbers. Of course you all came into the game at different times anyway, so even if I did give flat exp it wouldn't match. smile

I think I'm against it. It comes close to tossing an apple out with the words, "for the fairest" and may make future recruitement more difficult. This is especially true since we have different builds out there.

Maybe we don't need to list all the dots, or even all the abilities. How about a brief listing of each character's powers and abilities. It won't hurt future recruitment, but still have the same purpose of helping the characters interact with one another.

Don't we already have a character listing thread? Should we go back and edit that listing for what's happened recently?

I can say that I would relish a little more focus to the game so lets go for it. As a PC Andrew is enjoying himself, as a player I wish we would rely less of Lorean and more on ourselves.

Omar would enjoy molding the world. Of course, he would have to be acknowledged for his 'contributions'. Omar can't help hiself..he's a show-off.

OOC: I think the idea is great. I do think we need to see what becomes of the timeline as it is currently set. That way, we will know what 'adjustments' to make.

I think that's the one thing we can't do here. Until we don't need to worry about Paradox we're kind of stuck with one swing...

I agree with Andrew here. I really enjoy Lorean, but she was intended to be a plot device to get you to where 'you' can do things. I think we are in a position for you guys to be the prime movers now. I don't intend for the game to end in this timeline just for the record, but we could easily spend a couple chapters here or even more depending on you guys and how focused you want to be on it. My vision is for you guys to do some things, move forward a short way then make more adjustments, rinse repeat, until things get to a point where you are satisfied with the timeline and you perhaps even solve one or two of your ongoing problems.
Of course, now you guys also have the potential to have allies, rivals, or even enemies. I'm thinking of a certain Michael Donnigan here. <chuckles> Of course, just being here is changing things on this timeline, you've already picked up a nova and an inspired that didn't exist in the original timelines.

PS, I do hope you guys are still enjoying things, and if there is anything you want to do, or would like to see in the game, feel free to PM me. As always, more players are always welcome if you know anyone that would be interested in joining.

I am still very interested in the game, and have been following it (except weekends). The problem is "who is this hitler?". Phillip would be totaly lost at this time and just listening. Expect lots more participation on my part when that changes, but I am happy to wait.

Phillip would understand Marx however, because the Bolshevik Revolution had happened just a few years before in Russia. For many people in the 1920's, Communism looked like a viable alternative to Western Capitalism. Communists were very fervent and militant in the 1920's, setting off bombs and committing acts of sabotage, in order to bring about the Revolution spoke of by Marx and Engels. They propagandized heavily as well.

As for Hitler, he was a former private in the German Army during WW I, and will write Mein Kamp in a only few years.

Oddly we don't even know for sure is somebody like Saddam will be an issue. As soon as we start changing the "present" everything else becomes mutable. Putting me like Stalin down and replacing Hitler (or just reprogramming him) could cascade down the timeline in ways that we don't even expect. Hell what if we healed FDR's polio? How many more terms would he have served? Would presidential term limits have ever been added to the constitution? etc etc etc

What if we prevented the Shah of Iran from getting overthrown, imagine how different the middle east would be if Iran was freindly toward the US.

Presidential term limits are a result of FDR breaking tradition and serving more than 2 terms. If he'd had a 5th term that wouldn't have changed.

RE: The Shah
The part about the Shah that pissed of the Iranians is we helped install him. I think the previous government was a democracy and was thinking about nationalizing oil. And doing something about "the curse of oil" is definately on Steve's list.

That's an assumption though, we don't know that things would have changed and presidential term limits may never have come up. Regardless those effects are up to Fox to determine.

I think Andrew can probably get to work now on an alternate combustable fuel, something like ethanol or bio-diesel.

Keep in mind that diesel engines were originally designed to run on various fuels like bio-diesel. That's why it takes very little to switch them over to alternate fuels these days.

As you make changes I will evaluate them and do my usual extrapolation as to the outcome. <insert evil grin here> Just think of what became of Andrew's home timeline because of your actions.

Big question is are you guys going to come out of the nova closet or stay hidden. If you stay in hiding how long do you plan to do it? Also, you have nearly 200 years worth of technology knowledge, how do you plan to release or use that knowledge?
