Doug is faster (Hyper-flight), and a *much* better deal maker (although he was already super humanly good in this regard). He picked up both Persuader & Lie Detector... considerably expanding his pseudo telepathic theme although he doesn't think of it that way.

I don't have the Mastery Extra. I don't have Q6. I meant the power Elemental Mastery, as opposed to Elemental Anima.

But yes, Storm technique is one I'm considering getting. Though it would make her fairly dangerous to allies as well.

And doesn't Storm do 2 -dice- per dot?

Nope.

All directly from the core book:

1) Magnetic Manip's Magnetic Storm does 2-dice.
2) Elemental Anima doesn't have the Storm technique but it does have "enhance/diminish" which does 2-dice if the element does damage.
3) Entropy Control's "Bioentropy Storm" is instant and a resisted roll.
4) Elemental Mastery's Storm does "...two levels of... damage".

Levels isn't dice. Levels is auto-succ, for example Mental Blast does levels of damage after a resisted roll. I guess it's only fair since Mastery is Q5 and the Animas (including Magnetic Manip) are all Q4.

Oh, and there's not much point in Mastering the Storm Tech. You have Mega-Dex so you don't even suffer the +1 diff and I'm guessing you thus have 9 dice and only need one succ... i.e. activation isn't an issue. It'd take 6q to turn on, but you only pay that cost *once* no matter how long you have it up.

I suggest mastering a instant or Maintenance power. Sphere wouldn't be bad, Flight or even Shield would be pretty good too. I'm assuming you already have "Bolt".

As stated on pg. 196 for the EM technique: Storm

"Each Turn, Storm typically inflicts two levels of bashing damage per dot in the power rating, reduces the opponenets die pools by two and halves movement and vision."

I'm looking at additional possibilities. Immobilize is possible, even though I can use TK to grapple folks too. Propel is possible...though I have Enhanced Move on my mega dex... Sphere or Storm...

Your point about Storm is well made, but it seems to me if I plan on using it frequently, I ought to Master it. It's kind of abusive not to.

I'll make a post later this week detailing Raider's activities during the downtime. It's nothing personal against the others, but James is a strong telepath and I don't want to give them any info that would make them targets. Might even be worth it to send a messenger to tell him that the missiles were launched and are on their way and that Raider is leaving for a while but will return after the missiles hit.

Two things ....

First, I'll be posting a bulleted list into the start of the new chapter to cover all your activities after that I'll set the new scene and let you guys get into it.

Second. This is hard to announce but I wanted to give you all the heads up in advance. Basically Phoenix Rising is approaching it's sell by date. I figure most likely two more chapters, probably 6-8 months, and you'll have reached the end of the story as I had planned it. I'm not sure that in the meantime I won't come up with a new story but if I don't I want you all know now that the end is coming. If PR ends and I choose to start a new game you'll all be welcome into that game of course.

anyways ... next chapter should start by the weekend...

I don't suppose I could transfer Gregory to the new one.....maybe he is caught up in a temporal rift or something like that.

It'll depend on what I were to run for a game. If it's in the same setting that may be possible, but legitimately I'm focusing on giving you guys a good ending first ...

I made my intentions IC, but will elaborate in TT.

Gregory will continue to try to project his Construct/forcefield into bolts of force. After seeing Ash toss bolts of light, he also wishes to do so. He will also continue to wear as little clothing as possible, if any. This will continue to harden his body further. He will do most of this while wandering the surrounding areas, alone.

Anna will help Doug infiltrate the Aberrant City and she'll try to spent time with Ashley and help her cope with her new life hoping that she can forge a bond of friendship with her. She'll use her powers to make their hideout more habitable (EA:Earth and Plant Mastery/Animal Mastery).

I PM'd my XP expenditures days ago and I even sent you an email if I recall right. I can do that again, of course.

Gregory knows that he can't linger in a location for long periods of time. He will travel the surrounding areas, making contact with friendlies and reporting on potential threats. The last thing he wants is to be blamed for crop failurs and sick animals. He will physically check in with the party on a frequent basis.

You know, if the comet is destroyed or blown off course, it wouldn't break Raider's heart if Courier decided to strike the first blow of the Second Aberrant War by assassinating the Arch Duck James Ferdinand. He won't send the thought or even suggest it for fear James might pick up on that.

Thing is that might be counter productive at this point. James knows who is in charge pulling the strings. Yeah, he's got to go... but he may *still* be too useful to pitch under the train just yet.

And yeah, Doug is aware that James in manipulating the situation.

After seeing Fox's post in LM I'm starting to think I could possibly make this game open up into a semi open semi ST forum with the help of a partner in crime or two. We're still a ways off from that but when the time comes it's possible that this may be able to continue in a more open format if you folks and the others on the board want it to.

I'd be up for that. I like Raider and I think there's a lot to explore with this world and the characters.

Me too. I would not mind having Gregory explore the world. He's sort of relegated to being a wanderer.

If we do open it up, I think it should be done gradually. An influx of a lot of people at one time would make it unweildy and detract from actual game format that I enjoy. There is a certain sense of accomplishment to finishing a storyarc in which only the ST knows what is going on, (not that Gregory is really smart enough to figure it out on his own anyways). Maybe 2 or 3 new characters a month could join over the course of several months. After that, though, I think the number should be capped, with new characters entering as others leave. This way, the ST's could run storyarcs for those characters interested in still doing so.

I don't think that handing out xp's at a constant rate is necessary. I think they should be awarded for finishing an arc, or completing a task. This way, the characters are forced to adventure and explore, either as a team, or as individuals.

Those are all good ideas. Right now my main concern is of course completing this story for you folks. I know this game had had it's ups and downs but I hope you've all had a good time thus far ... I've a couple more surprises up my sleeve for you all.

Moving forward past this story would require two things:

1) Continued player interest - it seems that there is that and it possible that more would join if it were opened up wider

2) ST resources - this is the bigger issue IMO as I said before due to my own pre-planned story coming to a close. As things get closer I'll out reach to my fellow STs on the site and see if any would be interested in injecting some fresh ideas into this world of mine.

I'm not yet willing or decided to just close PR completely. There is something I'm proud of in knowing that I've been running a game for this long via, PBP no less. I'll do what I feel is right to either end it on a high note or allow it to continue as something else either in form or function.
