Boy that had been bugging me ...

I like the original better as well, but the main thing is that you are happy with it.

I like 'em both, I'm just happy to know where I had seen that image from.

Then again what do I know, I use a non-detailed nose-less avatar! wink

haha - so I guess it's back to the old Avatar.

I have a few up my sleeves which I will test throughout the next few days, but the Portrait is still the best I suppose.

Honestly this whole time I have only seen the Darkchylde one. I havent seen the new one at all. Maybe if there is a way to post it into a post I would have something to compare it to but I like the comic style over the chibi in general...

Just for the record. When I post the big update, I am leaving out the personal stuff for everyone except Joani and Ulric because they are a very public couple and what they do as a couple effects world events. For the rest of you I am leaving the family stuff for you to do in Fics and I will perhaps pull some stuff from there in the future.

In case I don't get it before then, can someone tell me what Cody, Andrew and Omar's last names are. I can remember right now and I wanted to refer to them in the update.

Cody's full name is Cody Malcolm Salvador...not that anyone would know that with his cipher rating...

What name would he give if he did something public? Especially if that thing was sneaky, underhanded and all for the greater good and furthered your goals for the telepath group you had in mind.

Btw, I was able to do a good bit of writing today and except for filling in some details I am ready to post. In the morning when I have the names I'll put it up. Hope you guys like it, it was difficult to put together such a big update and make it interesting to read. I cut it down quite a bit but tried to give you a feel for what things are like in 2000.

<------- Andrew Murphy

There's little point in Andrew's mind to using something else unless he takes on a new face as well

*sigh* sometimes multiple accounts can be a pain...

Anyway I was thinking and as soon as novas went public Andrew would have come out. He's not running any governments and he isn't involved with media so there's little point to him staying hidden. Plus the added influence of being a mega-smart nova who has worked with the likes of Einstein, Niels Borr, Oppenhiemer, Hawking, etc etc etc would help him get the best people to work with him on his various projects.

Technological innovations would still be funneled through the dummy companies he setup with Steve though to help hide just how far reaching his influence goes and to help hide his connections with the rest of you all.

Chapter 7 has begun! Freakin long post. Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions about anything you don't see covered in the post. 65 years is a long time and I'm sure I probably missed things that you will want to know about.

Also now that the update is posted, you can start posting your personal fics whenever you like.

Couple of Q's

When did Novas come out in the open?

When was Lorean's existance made public (if indeed it was)?

Re: Nodes
I assume that in 3rd gen an beyond the structures within a node that allow for Quantum manipulation have been subsumed into the cellular level and dispersed throughout the body. I.e. much like normal cells have mitochondria to generate engery chemically, cells now have a "node-structure" that harnesses and controls quantum energy. Yes/No?

Novas came out about 8 months after the Tribunal. I'll add a segment on that.

Lorean and the Cabal remain secret. Lorean is now parked in the Asteriod belt and is disguised as just another rock. Her Stealth and Teleportation abilities have improved a good deal over the years. She can teleport you back and forth from Earth to her with ease now, she has also developed fairly potent psychic shielding which is very handy given the number of telepaths scanning space now.

Mega-Int novas realize the cabal exists and have even divined many of the members, but they don't know your real secret of being from another timeline, they assume you are just among the first to have erupted.

Further note about two matters:
The religious council that met to discuss Novas and Psions was really arranged by Cody and Michael and they ensured that the reception of the new peoples would be positive. They also implanted imperatives that they should cooperate and tolerate one another's faiths from now on. The council was one of the major events of the 20th Century and was a major factor in peace being maintained.

Secondly, The incident in which Ulric was accused of dirty politics was also arranged by Cody and Michael and led to it being a standard practice for politicians to be scanned before taking office or retaking office. This one factor alone has almost entirely eliminated corruption. By the latter years of the Century, Cody and Michael rarely have to make 'adjustment's any longer.

That's fine. I can provide you with year and dates if you want or you can come up with it. Joani and Ulric were definitely not the first to have nova children by well more than a decade. I'd say the first real 2nd gens cropped up in the early 30s. They would have been very rare at that point. Someone who knows genetics can give a better explanation than I, but it would be something like eye or hair color being passed down. Nova/baseline pair would have about a 25% chance of having a nova child, nova/nova would be closer to 75%, depending on their parents and such. Really, I know little about genetics which is probably obvious.

Speaking of which, unless you specifically want your children to be baseline and you've married a baseline, please let me know how many children you have so that I can roll to see whether they are nova or baseline. If you want a child of a specific type for story purposes PM me about it.

Actually wanted you guys to post under the character fiction thread if you don't mind. I don't want things to get too cluttered up with individual short-term threads.

I tried to make a sub-thread under Character fictions but it didn't let me.

RE: nova children
1933 for the first official nova birth. They don't manifest their abilities until puberty, but some children are obviously Nova just by their appearance or heartiness. Some nova children are not obviously so until they manifest powers at puberty.
3rd Generation would have appeared first around 55. Average NPs for a 2nd would be 30NPs, average for a 3rd would be 35NPs.

Chosen might be able to set-up a subforum for you.

I'll be posting the first chunk of Andrew's timeline into the Chap 7 thread, it basically is an Andrew specific extension of your first post. If that's not kosher we can move it...

Edit: that's only partially complete but I'll add to it as I can.

I'm going to try and work on some of Andrew's actual fiction this weekend as well as completing his timeline, luckily there will be much less stuff AFTER 1968 as Andrew withdraws to study taint.

One more thing on the subject of posting in the Character fiction section... Be sure to hit New post rather than reply to what was above or you will end up posting under their post title which will make it look like you are responding to their fiction.

I will check with Chosen and see if I can get him to set that folder up to handle sub-threads which would make things easier.

Ah - didn't know that this was possible. Else I would have done that for my first fic, too. Would be great if Chosen could sort things out.

Wow, that was fast. Chosen has set us up a new Fiction category.

I've moved the Fictions to the new topic. Feel free to start new sub-threads there for your individual characters. Shared fictions are also welcome. If you want to repost and can't delete you're old ones I'll be happy to help.

Re: Paragons
Joani is the head of the Paragon's, but the League took it over in a sense. The public loved them so much and what they did that League brought them under the governments funding and resources. Eventually the League disbanded all other police agencies in favor of the Paragons. Today the Paragons number in the tens of thousands as an agency and are mankind's sole law enforcement. This isn't a problem since crime has fallen to such a low level. Also, members of the Paragons like politicians submit to scans on a regular basis to ensure that they don't become corrupt. This has worked out very well and the people have extreme confidence in the agency.

Even though it is an 'agency' now, the specials teams still exist and are organized by geographical locations. Omar leads the Asian branch. Each colony also has at least one or two specials that are part of the Paragons.

You guys had always planned to release the reigns of power eventually, but in many ways that began happening in the 1940s. Once these things were created and public knowledge many decisions were out of your hands. You could always 'adjust' people to get your way, but unless you foresaw something leading to a major blunder you let it happen.

I just caught up in Table Talk and have yet to read the juicy new IC postings, so I don't know if this question is still relevant. Cody will go by his middle name, and in his ironic sense of humor, consdering the Civil Rights movements happened way earlier in this timeline, will take the last name Xavier. Malcolm X.

Are you using your own rules for 2nd/3rd Gen Novas or any of the unofficial supplements like "A Breed Apart" on Eon? I'm just curious. Besides that - I assume we are currently "the most powerful" Novas around? I just want to know since if there are possible threats Joani would make sure that any contact with said threats would be documented on Loreans files. Knowing your possible enemies is the first step to victory. Maybe she would even go as far as rating possible criminals dividing them up between the subspecies (Baseline/Psions/Novas). I may have overlooked something, but I never played Trinity or !Adventure! and know nothing about those backgrounds. I'm only familiar with the Aberrant canon.

Btw, I updated my Character Info after the huge update.
