The book says that with two successes, you can create a large number of insect sized creatures. But according to the book, the decision is ultimately up to the ST to determin the specifics and mechanics.

If he's not able to get a swarm, either because he needs to powermax, or because it will cost double quantum (using QC twice in same scene-in either case, and not sure how many qp's he has left), then he will heal and go over to check on the stranger (Expendable) who flew into the woods near him.

I've never used QC but I thought further uses of it just gave +1 diff, not doubled q-cost.

Giving a swarm Immolate is an interesting idea... I'm not sure how to deal with it.

Yes, I haven't moved far from the original warp point. I just wasn't sure how far that was, and how big the rocket is.

Calypso is in no danger from the Rocket, it's plenty far away.

Seven is unconscious in the woods and also out of range of the rocket should it topple.

Oh, and one other thing. Is the contest for weather control over? Can she tell who won? Makes a difference for what action she'll try next time.

yes the contest for control is over, problem is that ALL of the amassed power went to the winner's action, so basically there are like 15-20 successes worth channeling the worst storm possible.

Hey all, just wanted to take a few moments for a short announcement.

Being that we very rapidly lost 2 characters and then gained 2 more I'm bringing this arc to a close early (which is why you are currently leveling Jame's rocket facility). Chapter 4 will continue for a while and end when it seems right after which there will be an in-game rest period before the next Chapter starts. I'm doing this in part because I want to make sure that PCs have a chance to spend Experience in a realistic time frame, and I want to start a story that all players/characters will have an emotional investment. Unfortunately due to the timing, Calypso and Seven came along and got sucked into the other's wake tagging along for an attack on somebody they barely know, not the best situation IMO.

So keep that in mind, when we wrap there will be a short downtime while I get ready for the next Chapter (maybe Book 2 Chap 1) and an in-game span of about 2 months. During this time all bets will be off and you can spend Exp freely. Furthermore if you wish to submit character fictions to the forum that take place between the chapters I will award bonus EXP to the writer(s). These can be solo pieces or combos between characters.

As always please let me know if you have any concerns, complaints, or suggestions. I can't change the game for the better without you all, and I like to think that while I do a good job I can always learn more.

Let's just say that this is a case where I don't think Aberrant (or Trinity for that matter) ever really bothered to take their rules. Granted I don't know that it was worth their time to do so. As a result I can pretty much decide how competing powers work and what happens when somebody either loses or just "lets go".

The storm is starting to tear into the forest now, and it's protection (which is what kept Calypso, Seven, and Gregory from taking damage) is going to ablate quickly. Courier you're about 50m north of the drop point.

OK folks we're here. I need a sound off for players sticking around for Book 2 Chapter 1. I'd like to assume its all 5 of you but we all know what happens when you assume.

Anyways, I won't be closing Chapter 4 until I am ready to start the next "session" so feel free to continue RPing amongst yourselves. I'm sure the new characters will have questions and the old hats may have some discussion of their own to carry out.

Being the end of both a Chapter AND a story arc/book there will be two dispersals of Experience. Once you've confirmed as returning for the next part I'll PM you with your gains for the chapter. ALL character (even the new guys, lucky you) get 15 exp for the close of the book and the downtime between now and the next story's start.
