Background: Xavier was born on April 10, 1974 to David and Nancy Kane at China lake regional hospital in China Lake, Ca. His father was in the Navy, so his early years were spent moving about until his father’s assignment to the Pentagon. It was there that Xavier’s love for space started after a trip to the Nasa space museum. His father gave him his first telescope at age 10 and from then on he never put the idea of him traveling into space from his mind. His hard work in school paid off with a scholarship to Penn St upon his graduation. He earned his first degree in 1996 and his master’s degree in 1998. After college Xavier went on to earn a Certificated Flight Instructor rating for airplanes, gliders and Commercial Pilot licenses for single and multiengine airplanes, seaplanes and gliders. Xavier began working for NASA Ames Research Center in 2000. where he did CFD research on V/STOL.

Xavier joined the NASA astronaut corps in March 2001 and was selected for his first flight in 2002. His first space mission began on November 19, 1997 as part of the six astronaut crew that flew the Space Shuttle Columbia flight STS-87. His second mission was scheduled for the January 23, 2003 mission, but due to illness, he was starched from the mission. After a successful mission the shuttle made for it’s return to earth, when it exploded during reentry. Xavier watch in horror at the scene portrayed, and upon travelling to the wreckage, Xavier erupted, to the shock of the rescue crew. He suddenly found himself rising uncontrolably into the air, before he passed out due to the trama. Utopia agents quickly attened Xavier, and brought him to the D.C Rashound clincic where he has spent the last few years honing the use of his powers and aiding in Utopia space porgram.
