Personality: Tessio is quiet and watchful, with deep soulful eyes. He has a guarded sense of humor that only comes out around people he is comfortable with – so not a lot. Amongst those that know him, he is a steadfast and exceedingly loyal friend.

Personal Interests: Tessio like pool, Frank Sinatra, and free-form Jazz. His taste in food is pedestrian, choosing Pizza and a soda over a high class restaurant any day. He has recently taken up an interest in sailing, though he has yet to try it.

Background: Tessio Blackthorn, as he was known in his early days, is one of the few novas who made the headlines before he became a nova. When Tessio was five, his father, a city bus driver, was shot to death while Tessio watched. The killers were never caught and Tessio never spoke again.
After his father’s death, Tessio became a ward of his grandmother and was introduced by her into the Chicago Mafia. His name was translated back into the Italian – Nerospina – and within a few weeks Tessio’s Uncle took him on a ride. The mob crew had located the men who had killed Tessio’s father and they had Tessio witness their execution.
After school and on weekends, his life became part of organized crime in the Windy City. He only spent one stint in juvie and managed to graduate high school on schedule. Instead of going to college, Tessio chose to become part of his Uncle’s crew.
He was making a name for himself as a stand-up guy when Chicago had a change in upper level management. When the new Boss arrived, an ambush went down. All of the accompanying mafia soldiers and all of the receiving mobsters, save Tessio, were killed. Tessio made his way through the carnage and rescued the new Boss of Chicago, erupting in the process. Suddenly, the two men were gone.
Not only did he have the eternal gratitude of his new boss, but he was a Made-Man and a nova … in that level of importance to Tessio. Now the Boss has him working close by at a front Company - East Side Security Services – and he is actually learning the technical side of the business. Tessio’s duties aren’t overly taxing and he has a great deal of free time. In a way, he has everything he has ever wanted. Somehow he feels he is missing out.
