That's a very interesting story. I've never been called that before. It's nice to know you might actually understand.

The difference between us is that I became an assassin because that is what I wanted to do. I was so proud, self-assured, and arrogant that I decided that I was right and the world was wrong. By the end of it, I was a monster that hunted down and killed kids in paradise. Oh, the novas I killed were inhuman enough and they caused a great deal of suffering among baseline humanity. They just didn't know any better. They had been raised to believe that they were as superior to baseline humanity as humanity was to the chimps. I couldn't take on the ones really responsible for what was going on. I didn't want to die. So I killed the ones who worked for them. By the time I was that far down the road, I didn't even recognize the boy I had been.
I don't want to make those same mistakes again. Have I lost you yet?

I understand, maybe. Personally, I only did what I was told. If I was a good little girl, things were a lot less painful. No one suspects that a ten year old is going to be their end. Growing up like that made it really hard to break the cycle. It was the only thing I was good at, even found myself enjoying it. I'm lucky though, I don't remember most of the early stuff,only glimpses here and there. I still lose it sometimes, but I've gotten a lot better.

Wow. I've been complemented. As much as I'd like to take credit for Apep's extensive travels, I have to admit to merely being the navigator. I wasn't the one doing the proverbial temporal driving.
