That'd be like makin' it with a little girl, just sick.

So, you like that anime crap eh? Well girly, I do know a guy who might be just the one for you. Terat guy I party with on occasion, goes by the name of Tubular. Ok guy for a surfer. But, he's got these tentacles, bunches of em. Bet you'd like some of that action eh? I can hook ya up if you'd like. I've seen it in those nasty cartoons y'all make over there.

Jack: Already noted. But let me put this another way, who's gonna have the time to grab it while I'm getting a few hits in? My specialty is getting on and out of grappling techniques. They're asking for a boot to the head if they even try grabbing from behind. The collar is also break-away, if need be. My mom does in fact think ahead. (Not to mention go overboard.)

Oh man, I forget to see the next page, and who's darkening my doorstep? Yep, it's dirty billy. I mean, here I am trying to get a constructive conversation going with Jack, and you seem to get your M/R Node enhanced testosterone rants in. PLEASE! It's a suprise you've lasted this long, little billy. There's nothing subtle about you. Now go home and spank to some girlie mags, or better yet, watch some Hentai while you make some action with that gay lover of yours with the tentacles.

Multiple opponents tend to make that easier to achieve than it first appears. And it's not the ones that can't do it ontheir own that you need to worry about. It's the seven or eight novas on the planet that could. And the two of them that would use the opportunity to try and put a person of normal body mass into low orbit.

Glad to hear your mom took it into account. If nothing else, when it tears away that should come as a surprise to 'em long enough to follow up with the boot.

I don't doubt it. Your abilities are impressive Endeavor but remember everybody has their little super secret ninja tricks they keep in reserve for that one time they need to put somebody down permanently. I wasn't kidding about nova's that would try that stunt with the intention of tossing you up where the air is a little sparse.

Jack: Again, you hit me with some good info. I'll keep some of these things in mind, but one thing I have to say. I'm no Elite, nor do I plan to be. I know you're used to fights where your opponent uses EVERY dirty trick, so I'll learn from your example and adapt it to my environment. It could be useful if I'm accosted by some terat recruiters or some thugs in a dark alley, but, I can defend myself pretty good. We don't have the luxury of body-tight catsuits or combat fatigues. My look springs from the need to put foreward a pretty face for my parent's corporation and just to get some cheap pics (it's true, I do like SOME of the attention I get.) An Elite's life is hard. I SO get the picture. I'll keep that in mind when I head to DeVries for an Interview. You know something, I've been hearing talk that Minneapolis is looking for a Municipal Defender. Must be because of all the tech firms off of Washington Avenue in downtown.
Vile: Hey, he was nicer. At least he offered me a dinner and a ride. You went right for my personals, and look what happened. Dirty old man...

Well, that's all I gotta say for the moment.

Just remember that municipal defender is a civil service gig. If you have the right temperment it can be a decent way to learn about life, politics and exercising your abilities but if you don't... Read up on a lady named (if I remember correctly) Tenor, that will be doing a municipal defender gig for the next 15 years because of a small error in judgment regarding a bridge.

I started a new thread with you in mind. I know you don't want to be Elite but being non-Elite is not synonymous with being a non-combatant. So long as there are people that feel you have something they want, even if it's only your abilities, there will be confrontation. Boardroom, street or battle field doesn't change some things.

Give it a read when you have the opportunity.

I've seen the post, it's smart to have something out there. The world is a nasty place still, and it will take more than Utopia to end world strife.

Okay, DeVries said I'm too "young" for their needs at the moment (I'm 18 and perfectly legal dammit.) And the Muni' job got took under my nose by some upstart. So, I'm still hooked into the corp my parents run for now. My dad (Who is as baseline as Nebraska is flat) gives me some encouragement once in a while. My mom was UBER-Dissapointed. She was working so hard on a costume for me. (Although the frilly dress and sceptre would make me the laughing stock of the buisness.) Anyways, an opening just popped up for the summer at the Tokyo branch of Hino Industries & Technologies, but it's a friggin' spokes-model gig for their new transportation line. I do like the swimsuit they have for me though. ME-OW! I'm just waiting for the XWF to call soon, I signed up for try outs. Looking foreward to meeting the higher-ups, and to hammering out a deal. Hopefully.

Hi Everyone!

I'm currently on my Parent's yacht headed for Tokyo. Via Hawaii, and Midway. I'm currently typing to you guys from my satellite connection to the opnet from our ship, enjoying the view as the Golden Gate Bridge slowly fades from view. It's been great being in the US, but I gotta head back for school to finish out my high school career. Because of all the travelling I've lost a few credits and have to make them up. I don't mind, it's all cake to me.

One question though; I've been hearing about a Terat with aquatic abilities wrecking ships that travel the pacific. Have any of you guys had shipboard or underwater combat experience? Wether or not this guy is actually about, I'm sticking close to the lifeboats, and making sure a life vest is close by.

Keep dry!

Oh, my parents plan on some scuba diving tomorrow afternoon, but I don't exactly like oceans. Too deep for my liking.
(I know I posted this elsewhere. But I like my friends to know what I'm doin, and potential resquers to know where I'm goin.)

Yep and yep. Unless you can adapt to water conditions don't try and match a nova that can. The environment works against you, especially someone that relies on speed and freedom of movement, and its difficult to breath.

If you get attacked by one, shift the encounter to the air and hit'em while they're still adapting. If you have to fight'em in the water remember that fast moving objects cause the suspended nitrogen to cavitate and form discrete gas bubbles. You can exploit this by tightly circling an opponent at (relatively) high speeds and trapping them in an unbreathable atmosphere, which forces them to adapt. Once they do you stop and then they have to re-adapt to the water. This will buy time for the ship to clear the area and then you bug out via air. The drawback is obvious; you have to try and take them on their own battlefield.

Terats as a group wouldn't waste their time on personal craft but you never know what individuals will do for a hobby. Sounds more like one of those Green War geeks. Still, the fact that your mom is using hydrofoil equipment is in your favor. At 90 knots plus most of the people that might consider taking you on won't bother to run after you when it means working that hard to catch up.

Last piece of advice; Don't try moving quickly between depths in the water. The adaptive can handle it but for those that rely on being tough... Caestus Pax would scream like a baby when nitrogen starts to bubble in his blood.

Have a good trip and enjoy the scuba diving.

The only way they're getting me to dive is either for snorkeling (with proper flotation devices) or having me pilot the dinghy. 'nuff said. I hate oceans. I'd rather be on the Hikari-Maru (the name of our ship.) At least it's big enough so I don't notice the sway caused by the water as much. -_-;

For starters; Honey, your going to what amounts to a big island and you hate the ocean? Okay...
Two, I take it you have the most advanced sonar available, so sneaking up on you should be a tad difficult. How big is your crew, anyway? Your biggest problem doesn't seem to be keeping yourself out of trouble, but keeping your family and crew safe. Have your mom whip up some sonic amplification devices. As tough a weapon as sound is above the waves, its far more powerful below. Both warning devices and depth charges, please. Try to protect your sonar equipment and don't detonate too close to your own hull.
Three: the only Terat I know to be in the area is relatively peaceful, but has had a problem with some nipponese corporations 'dumping' practices. I don't believe she would be attacking shipping. It would be like destroying the dump truck that's dumping trash in your back yard...while its still in your back yard. She loves the oceans too much for that. She is much more likely to 'drowned' some corporate heads as a warning, or launching litigation in the World Court.
Combat tips: Water-adapted novas are bad (in the water), but Water-Controlling novas are worse. They haven't adapted to their environment, they are their environment. Remember that.

If it is a real Terat (which I doubt), they are likely to be thinking in ways which are alien to you. Novas who adapt to non-standard environments are more prone to that. On the plus side, they will be less likely to take the fight out of the water if they feel threatened.

Water combat centers around manuevering in 3-D and limited visibility (for you). If you don't believe me, watch a porpise fly a jet simulator some time. Scary how those guys think.
For the visiblity problem, your best bet is to reduce theirs by making bubbles to distort your signature. Whipping up one or two active decoys wouldn't hurt.
Lastly, remember that movement above the thermocline layer makes waves, so be careful that your own manuevers don't sink your boat.

So noted.
I just don't like SWIMMING in oceans. Never know what's swimming past your ankles. I'f I'm in a boat or on a ship I'm fine. Islands are land for cryin' out loud. I just hate VERY deep water. Pools, lakes, I'm fine. Must be having water everywhere that bothers me.
Hitting my own ship? There's something I haven't considered.
