I start the flight this wed.
Glad you're taking a mild interest. I'm starting to think that the more people know I'm doing this, the safer me and my mom will be.
Anyways, since I'll have a "wing man" now who can fetch supplies when needed, I can severely reduce the amount of stuff carried. With mom zipping around to keep the fires stoked, I should be fine. Of course when I rest she'll rest too. I plan on taking 12 hour rest periods per "hop".

Definitely keep us posted, if you can. So, what kind of stuff have you seen so far? Besides miles and miles of incredible ocean, that is. It does help remind me of how little landmass there actually is, ya know?

Thank you for the offer. I may do just that. If it's the experience you say it is, I may have to direct some effort to evolving the ability.

WHOA. You've been to mars, Mr.N.?
Man, maybe I should grab a spacesuit and ask you for a little excursion! *laughs* That's SOOOO cool! I wish I could do that!

Of all the groups that I keep in contact with, of all the philosophies extant on this globe, I find myself cherishing my time with the Daedalus League the most. They explore for the sheer joy of it, and that joy can be contagious. If I was forced to declare for a group or philosophy, I would not even hesitate joining the League full-time. As it is, I am only an adjunct member since I can not devote my full attention to it.

But yes. I have been to Mars. I have seen the rings of Saturn with my own eyes and I have watched Jupiter rise over the horizon of Europa and seen the lightning storms as their magnetic fields and radiation belts war for survival. They are sights to awe the soul.

If you are interested, perhaps you should contact the League. With your enthusiasm, your engineering and manufacturing capabilities, you might find each other mutually beneficial.

If you are willing to accept the risks of a hostile environment such as Mars, I would gladly take you there as part of a Daedalus League outing next month.

Enjoy your trip across the Pacific.

Mr Nashoba, I should like to come along and help as well with the Martian expedition, I adapt to harsh conditions with ease, have previous experience regarding Mars and can transport pretty much anything you can fit through a 'hole' aprrox 7 metres by 7 metres in 10 seconds or so. Also I have data that this Daedulus League would be interested in.

I must apologise for my ignorance, I have been out of circulation for a while and was not aware that such an organisation had sprung up while I was away.

Endeavor, If you let me know what longwave radio frequency you'll be using in an emergency I will keep my eyes and ears open every halfhour or so and can help with evacuation should any unforseen emergencies arise.

Walker, those capable of manipulating spacetime are always welcome - that you are highly adaptable is a bonus as well. The League will welcome you with open arms if you wish to become a member.

To Walker, Endeavor, and anyone else interested in the Daedalus League, the next major meeting will be in Hawaii on July 20 at the Mauna Kea observatory. Several members of the League have contracted independently to help calibrate some new astronomical equipment. The observatory has graciously allowed the League to use their property as the staging area for the trip.

Those not capable of high mobility or those who are not adaptable to harsh conditions or require equipment for survival or transport should contact the League through their OpNet site and should arrive at least six hours beforehand. Since the League operates legally in many countries, personal liability waivers will be required.

The current agenda is (all times local PST):
12:00PM - Lecture on Mars (history, mythology)
2:00 - Snacks
2:30 - Lecture on Mars (terrain, hazards)
4:30 - Early dinner
7:00 - Tour of Mauna Kea - incl. telescope time
8:00 - Calibration begins
9:00 - Final equipment check
10:00 - Advance group departs for staging
10:30 - League transit to Mars (via multiple spatial warps for those incapable of traveling on their own).
4:00AM - League returns. Breakfast will be provided. As per League bylaws, all those incapable of their own transport will return now. Members who can transit on their own and survive independently may stay longer.
5:00 - Debrief. Films will be developed free of charge. Examination of samples. Any equipment loaned out by the observatory or the League must be returned at this time. Open discussion on the experience. Coffee will be provided.
10:00 - Event concluded.

One final note: The Daedalus League is dedicated to exploring space. The Nova Condition is only of interest insofar as it relates to space exploration/survival. Political discussions and posturing will not be tolerated. This does not mean that Utopian/Teragen/etc. are unwelcome, we just ask that you leave your philosophy at the door and treat our hosts with respect.

Jager: Unfortunately, since I'm T-1 day and some hours from taking the trip, all I'm seeing is a beach head. And some sky scrapers. Wednesday is the big take-off!
For the guy interested, I'll be using a cleared frequency over the old XM sattelite network. It's channel 140. It's good there's some sattelites for that thing still in orbit I can use. They're built for large footprint transmissions/reception. I may be able to take a vid-cam along, but I think text descriptions will suffice.
Now if you excuse me, I've gotta check up on my equipment. Final checks and all that keep my jitters away.

Well, this is it! I'm about half way through my first "hop". Everything is going well so far, but it is a little rainy. Nothing really much to write home about except a lot of ocean below me. I'm going to have to make a wet landing today, I'm covered on that. But on the next few hops, we'll be using a few ships. I'm not looking foreward to sleeping on a waterbed(pun) but I guess it'll have to do...
Sayonara for now!

Bon Voyage, mon petit ammie...and watch out for the dark places of the world. The oceans are just full of them.

I hope so. She's coming over the Pacific to see me. You couldn't get me anywhere near water that big. Of course then again, I might not like my fur getting wet. The smell is horrid. :P

Hi everyone. Just floating here in the middle of nowhere. We're on course and schedule. I'll be taking a week pit-stop in Hawaii, and I'll be taking a break from my posts. I only have a minute more on the sattelite, so I'll be talking with you guys again soon.
Debugger: Hey, whatcha do for PE when you go swimming then?

Ahhh, nothing like sand between your toes. It's also nice to get off this suit. I'm sitting on a very small island near Hawaii right now. Mom's fishing and I'm just enjoying the view. We actually have enough materials around to start a fire and have a good old nova-sized fish fry.
Debugger: Hehe. Good one. I wonder how many times the ruse didn't work? After people found out you're just a kitty-cat genius?

Well, this is a strange turn of events... Just last night Me and my Mother came across an uncharted island that somehow seemed to pop out of the water some 4 years ago. As we got within oh... 3 km of the island, we saw flashes of light, as if a nova-sized fire fight has erupted. We've parked ourselves off shore, and weighing our options... out.

I know what I see, Kittycat. Girlfrien', you don't know what goes on on that wretched island, and you shouldn't either. Let's just say that place is the equivalent of a gladiatorial arena. Except, theres a nova there who LOVES pain... feeds off of it. Endeavor and Dr. Hino don' know what's comin' for 'em if they stick their nose in it. They need to leave NOW before HE senses their presence!

You don't have to worry about me, Cutter, Me an' mom have flew out of that cookoo's nest. We so MAXED out of there! Probably left a bow wake from that island to Hawaii! We're going to briefly stop there. I'm still heading to SanFran, but Mom's heading back for Japan at top speed as soon as she can. She dosen't have to "hop" like I do. Something about that island bothered her. You should have seen how white her hair became when she saw the confligrations on that island.

Dearest Sakura-Chan,
By the time you read this, I will have left you. The presence that I felt on that island has truely shaken my inner fibre. I am focussed on one thing, to face that darkness and destroy it. The darkness shrouded in death and destruction. I know this sounds strange, but, I was partially responsible for this situation. He, is your brother, Sakurako. When he was but an infant, I had put him up for adoption, soon before your birth and just after my marrage to your father. He was the son of someone I wish I had never had any relations to. Your brother, after his eruption recently, took out his tormented and insane delusions and went on a killing spree. First killing his adopted family and his father, then rampaging to that island. He has the ability to cloud one's mind and control the emotional impulses of the mind. He does indeed feed off of suffering and torment, as well as the impulses of energy released upon death. He's a monster, Sakurako. He must be stopped for the sake of all of us.
I know this dosen't explain everything, and by the time you read this, I may as well be dead. I want you to RUN. Run as far away from here as possible. Continuing on your journey would be the best for the family. I have already made arrangements in case the worst-case scenario I postulated indeed happens. But, I do have some hope. There are... Things I haven't told you about myself, things I have learned and people I have assiciated with. Soon you will meet these people, and you will learn of the destiny some have spoken of. I am sorry I will most likely not be there for you. But, if I return, I will tell you EVERYTHING.
Goodbye, For now.
Hitomi Hino.
PS: Do not follow the flow. Follow your heart.

So, Hitomi, it's time to fight side by side once again. Heh. I've always liked desperate odds. I've recieved your coordinates, and I'll be at the island shortly. Then, we'll open up the biggest can of whup a$$ on the pacific since WWII!

And yeah, your favorite pink haired sailor suit wearin' nova is back. Alive and well, and yeah, mom's fine too. *grins* not every day you get to save the world. Check out the vignettes section for my disposition on the whole fracas.
