And I think you guys know who I'm talking about.

Why is it that when someone who is despicable and damnable dies, people show remorse for the loss? Then, when I point out this... farce... of a funeral procession to his frigging side I get looked at like I'm some sort of whacko nutcase! Look at what Metropolis was, people. He was drunk with his own power, and dedicating his life hounding Apep. The only person I truely feel sorry for is Apep right now. Because I think she's about to catch hell for something that HAD to be done.

Yes, life was lost, yes I feel sorry it came to this, but this was Metropolis's choice to follow this path. His arrogance made him not realize the folly of his endeavor and he lost his life in the process. He didn't die bravely, he died a fool.

I do not mourn deaths like this. Metropolis fought without honor, only with a mad obsession. An obsession to try to get Apep to be some sort of general in a damnible war that would mean genocide for one, if not 2 sentient races. Namely Novas and Humans. This sort of mad ambition can only end in destruction. That is the lesson I take from this. How can I mourn someone I didn't know, nor never had respect for?

Of course, I'm some sort of crazy bitch. Of course if this happened six months ago, woud you guys have thought "Hey, I'd bet Endeavor woud say some cutesy thing and try to act the superhero." Well, bugger to you. Next time, before you judge me, think about the damn subject.

Someone stop this merry-go-round, it's making me sick.

Personally, I strongly suspect that there are unseen factors at play in the interaction between Apep and Metropolis. For us to assume that we understand all from our limited exposure here is utter folly.

Perhaps it is because each of us have choices to make, including ones which may be considerably more noble and/or heroic than what we had chosen before. It is fairly depressing not to see everyone have a chance to make up for any mistakes they made in their life. We each have a great potential and to not fulfill it is perhaps the most devastating loss.

But, that's just me.

Death is a funny thing, you lady. You see in Death it often the wrost things that are rembered of great men,and the great things remeber of the wrost men. SO we look back and see a dead man,We see the good, the evil, the man.

Now do I pitty him?Do I think he should have died? Niether. He died, and life goes on aroudn him.He was not some devil, and he was sure no saint.

In the end we all die,and some are already dead. They just don't know it.

"Fought without honor"?

As in, "Play to win"?

No, as in fighting for a cause concieved in madness. From what I gathered from him, he was dangerous. Deaths like that are in vain, without meaning. Metropolis wanted to pound an idea into Apep, not talk out issues like a civilized Nova.

I'd have to agree with you there, Prodigy. I hardly know hide nor hair of the late Metropolis, and I also do not know Apep well enough to even figure out what runs through her mind. Perhaps there is a dimension to this story I have yet to uncover...

While I'd have to agree with you, I'd only feel that way if Apep was the one being mourned here. Metropolis on the other hand is an illustration of ambition consuming the person, leading to their destruction. I do feel some remorse in that aspect. But I do not cry for him, and I sure as hell don't dress like a widower either. Yes, that's blunt, but that's how I feel.

Endeavor,

Shut the hell up. Don't fucking pitty me. You have no clue what's going on here.

I think it is complementary for him to wish me the general to his war. It is a war I am not so opposed to either. If both races were to die, then so be it.

You do not need mourn for anyone. However, your crass attitude is ugly. I won't chalk it up as you being crazy either. I don't believe you are, just another silly game and plea for attention if you ask me.

Lucius hounded me for a reason. He was not drunk with his own power. He was not a wacko nutcase.
He dedicated his life to very admirable causes, not to stalking me. Most were just too blind to see past his methods. He knew I would most likely kill him. He wanted to prove a point to me, and he did.

Endeavor(in response to post on In Memory),

Lucius did not threaten me. The only reason I did not have a choice in my decision to kill him is not why you think. I am a murderer. I went to meet him with that very intention. He was less a threat to me than you are aware of.

Hopefully the point he managed to get across was, no matter how mad you get with someone don't kill them.

I don't intend on pitying you. Second I got a different opinion of the man. Finally, this isn't a call for attention, I was just stating my opinion. Which... Is obviously flawed. From all the response I've been getting, I'm starting to think the majority around here didn't think as low of him than I thought.

I must have got my wires crossed somewhere and misunderstood his point of view. I can see that now. I'm dissapointed it lead to this.

But, then again, I haven't been known to be tactful. So, just chalk it up to me sticking my foot in my mouth. I don't know if I was right to think the way I did. Perhaps Metropolis is teaching me a lesson from the great beyond... Who knows...

Endeavor, as is so often the case, 'Live and learn'.

This wasn't the first time two people I liked and admired crossed paths and only one continued. Won't be the last time, either.

If anyone takes a look back at what was said and what was done, ...
Just do what you want and for your own reasons.

I will miss Metropolis and all the things I could have learned from him; about his Way and how he saw life.
I think nothing less of Apep for any of this. It wasn't like I didn't already know a great deal about her and her way of life before this. She had her reasons and that's enough for me.

Like I said, Jager, Metropolis is teaching me more post-mortem than he ever did while here. It's unfortunate, but I guess it's the case.
