I'm sure I will. I'm enroute now.

The only thing is, I'd better avoid Minneapolis for a few days. I just pissed of that DigiGeist freak.

If you're needing to contact me, I'll be at the Radisson South in Bloomington this Friday. Then, I'm off to the chase.

Mr. Rockford is a smart guy. A bit egotistical, but no one has died under his careful eye chasing these dragons.

He also has quite a nice ride. We're somewhere outside Parumph Nevada at the moment. Picked up some supplies for the long ride to Nebraska, then off to Minnesota via chartered cargo aircraft.

We'll be hunting around the land of sky blue waters after Friday, for the entire weekend, and the following week.

^.^

This should be good. Mr. Rockford will keep an eye on me. I'll be keepining both eyes open for trouble myself.

Thanks for the concern.

Well, I'm back. Many misadventures to report. ^.^ I'm unwinding right now, being tense all day tends to work on the energy reserves... I'll tell you guys all about the trip when my energy is back up. >.<

Untill then, Sayonara! ~.^

Rest well, Miss Hino. smile

Considering the theme of this thread, has anyone ever noticed some strange sightings in the antarctica region? I rarely go there, considering that I'm not entirely immune to the effect of the environment and the distance, but I've seen what seems to be a sealed gate of solid rock that was carved into the side of one of the mountains.

Before I could take a closer look, I was intercepted by two unknown Novas who gave me a direct order to leave. They mentioned something about not wanting me to 'corrupt the haven' or some such thing. Furthermore, I believe that one of them may have given some sort of latent memory erasure. By the time I left the Antarctic area, I had even less of an idea where the entrance was and my memory of the two Novas appearance is growing hazier with each passing day.

I'd bet you even odds that those are the "protectors" that occasionally are spoken of on some not too visited boards I ocasionally lurk on. I tend to think that it's rumor, and usually speak of them tongue-and-cheek.
But the idea of novas holing themselves up in Antarctica, is quite logical.

I'll have to change any flight routes I take accordingly, if this is the case. (I'll have to test out my temperature regulation gear in the Arctic instead of Antarctica. Bummer, I'm not one for dodging crevasses that lead to quite a cold bath...)

Jager, don't worry. It's no time soon, and I plan to keep my feet firmly planted on dry land. Northern Canada or Siberia is cold enough in winter to do just fine. Hey, when I some up with some new upgrade for some "toys" of mine, I like to test it out. After all, if it wasn't safe or adequate, I wouldn't concieve of it, or use it.

Although, some HALO jumps would actually be fun. Or perhaps some BASE jumping? Heck, if the parachute fails, I can always fly. ^.^

Man I hate it when that kind of thing happens to me, you're lucky you even remember that you remember something happening. I bet you're also really puzzelled about why you decided to take their advice and go away in the first place.

I don't know if 'lucky' is the word for the fact that I can't remember several hours of my life. It's just one big blank spot from when I arrived to when I left.

Strange, because I know that I do possess some amount of psychic resistance. I guess they must have been fairly skilled.

I wonder if this is similar to waking up after a night full of hard drinking. >_< Can't quite remember the important details. At least I didn't wake up in someone else's bed. wink

Trust me, waking up in someone else's bed I'd trade for waking up on coroner's slab. At least I can remember my life before I had some bullets parked into me where they shouldn't. I wish I could forget. It hurt like bloody hell.

But, enough about my sob story. So, Little Miss Endeavor, how was your trip to Oz? Or perhaps it was Kansas? :p

New weirdness.

And the reason why I mention this is so that those that'll meet up with me next week for the diving trip won't get too weirded out.

Last night, I had a splitting headache, and felt as weak as a newborn kitten. I laid in bed for I don't know, a while. When I got up to do my rounds, the room semed slightly larger. Not by much. I thought it was some sort of weird nova thing, I don't know. Well, when I got to the bathroom to freshen up for the day, I was shorter. Infact, after measuring myself, I'm 5'3". I've regressed to when I was 14. At least physically.

But get this. This is the weird part. I've lost some of my powers. Yes, my CyberKenetic ability is intact, but I can't fire off my kinetic bolts anymore. They're... gone. So are a few other things. All I got left is my CK, and my ability to fly. That's it.

I'm not thinking of what caused this, since I don't have a clue. Any takers? Could it be some weird side-effect of taint? I haven't heard of it shutting off abilities though.

Endeavor, pick up your Op phone. Log onto the Utopia op site, select Rashoud Facilities, enter your current country and zip code and then select the "request information" icon. At the very top of the new page is the contact information for the clinic in Japan. Select the icon and you'll be routed to a video line for the receptionist. Tell the nice lady name, Kaoru Shimizu, your name and ask to speak with Dr Takagi. She'll connect you immediately.

I don't mean to worry you, sweetie. It's probably nothing to be overly concerned with but this isn't something you deal with via opmail.

Get to a specialist. Now please.

If your concerned; I'm more than happy to arrange a trustworthy escort. I'm aware of some of the more paranoia enhanced stories floating around.

I'm barely 1 step ahead of you guys. I talked to my personal physician who had been handling my case since my eruption. He's just as baffled as to what has caused this than I. The most puzzling thing? My node. It shrunk. Somone, or something, screwed me over. Anyways, now the news is spreading through the medical community, and I've indeed set up an appointment today at the local Rashaud Clinic. Lucky I'm not in the US, all the offices are closed there. Holiday and all.

I have a bad feeling someone "nerfed" me.

Neil, We'll meet up when we all hook up for the trip. I'll be able to get all of my records together.

Gotta go, my appointment is soon.

Endeavor, two things: Quantum and Temporal Fugue State. Having experienced a massive temporal variation in the past six months or so can really screw with the node, and the mind, in ways that aren't entirely obvious. Remember, time plays by its own rules and dates and distance mean nothing to it.
Follow that line of thought and you may have a better understanding of your problem.

Let's not worry about explanations for the moment and concentrate on making certain you're not about to turn green and stomp all over Tokyo. They just built that new park with the Caestus Pax rocket coaster ride and it's barely a month old.

Seriously, drink some jasmin tea and relax. Meditate. Read a good book. You're about to spend a not inconsiderable amount of time having measurements made. Plenty of time for worrying later.

You'll like Dr Takagi. Nice manner, good at his job and very cute. Not Neil Preston cute but definitely memorable.

If only things were possible like that. I'd have to stop the guy doing so though. Too many innocents would get hurt in the process. Not to mention I'd say Nippontai would tear that Gojira wannabe a new one.

As for me, I'm not hulking out. Prelim results: I got kerjiggered by a mischevious nova. I had residual quantum traces on my entire body. There was a Nova on duty who took one look at my aura or whatever and said "Whoa, someone messed you up but good!" Someone used a power on me. I don't know who, or why. Hell, I can't even be mad, because it could have been accidental. All I know is, I got nerfed, and I'm feeling really down about it. Even a little violated.

But, there's nothing I can do about it but carry on for now.

I might be able to lend a hand. I've always been able to sniff out quantum signatures - might be able to catch a print off of the residual quantum from the effect. This would allows me to 'recognize' the nova who tagged you.

'Course, if I've never met him and he isn't within my range, I still couldn't finger him for you, but there's a chance. Even then, if you find a suspect later on, I could check to see if you're right.

Just a thought: wassisname...Jason Grant? Don't know him or his capabilities, but he might be able to kick you back up a few notches. Odds are good that your abilities are only being suppressed - not actually erased.

Yikes.

Looks like someone hit you with gold kryptonite. :p

The best thing to do, Endeavor, is to get some help. Past that, what I'd recommend - and I'm hardly the best in this field - is to find a state in which you're more consciously aware of what all that quantum energy's doing. If you need to, map it out with that engineering skill you're so good with. Me, I sort of feel my way through it - I can feel trace levels there even when I'm dormed.

I have some free time before my next contract. Want me to join you on your cruise?

Now to answer some questions...

Man I hate it when some Nova puts the weirds on me. No doubt you've been digging, any data on the why of it at all?

I've gotten some. Quite frankly after finding out, I really don't have the reason to be angry about it. The poor kid erupted, and my house was within range of her power. Wrong place, wrong time.

So are you back to normal yet Sakurako and is the trip still on?

Unfortunately, the damage is permanent, but it's nothing I can't adapt to, and yes, the trip is SO on.

No need. Already know, issue resolved for the most part, except for making sure she goes to the right people.

Just a thought: wassisname...Jason Grant? Don't know him or his capabilities, but he might be able to kick you back up a few notches. Odds are good that your abilities are only being suppressed - not actually erased.

Intresting, although I'd rather see if time will heal the damage. Quite frankly I feel I've had enough people mucking around with my abilities. Understandible sentiment?

The best thing to do, Endeavor, is to get some help. Past that, what I'd recommend - and I'm hardly the best in this field - is to find a state in which you're more consciously aware of what all that quantum energy's doing. Heheh. Allready covered. Let's just say the .dll files got deleted. I gotta see if my body has backups. Again, data recovery takes time, so does checking to see if this is just a temporary thing.

Gold Kryptonite indeed...

I have some free time before my next contract. Want me to join you on your cruise?

I'll have to cook up a special wet suit for ya, luckily I've still got your measurements. (And don't worry if there have been some changes, remember those nifty memory polymer modifications I can make to Hinopolymer?)

I know the news I've given has some holes to fill, but, the girl in question asked to remain anonymous. As you can imagine, there'd be those who'd gun for her because she violated a fellow Nova.

The only reason why I had even mention the changes that happened to me was because my appearance has changed a bit, and that anyone who runs into me in person won't be surprised when a pink haired early-teens girl starts pinging your node.

It's sort of embarassing, but I'll manage. No pity party here, it's just life throwing at ya a curve ball. I'll manage.

Well, I'm normal, at least for a nova if that's what you're asking. I feel fine. And no, the powers I lost haven't come back. Something weird though, I have been sontrolling my terminal more of "in the background" of my mind recently. I used to have to do it where it took all of my concentration. Now it's getting easier. Hell, I'm making dinner right now while doing this. D'OH... Well, that don't mean I should. Just burnt dinner. Well, looks like I order out... Again.

Anyways, I appreciate the concern, but it's nothing to worry about. I'm fine, I'm carrying on with life. No mattter how strange it is, at least to Human eyes.

Endeavor, that's just you being normal. You could never cook for crap. Your systems can do it just fine, but dear, you are the Cook of Death.

Maybe with some of your pathways being burned out, your quantum is finding new and improved ways to do what it can.
