But Isn't Thomas Paine a large reason we have this nation?
No, Thomas Paine is a small reason we have a nation. Paine hated the british and their monarchy. We have a nation because of people like Washington, Franklin, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Greene, just to name a few. Paine wanted to tear the establishment down and incite the mob. The ones I mentioned BUILT the foundation of this nations with their blood, sweat, and toil.
Yes, they were all rich (or well off) white men. And?
Revolutionaries come in many stripes, Ms. Celeste. Being one doesn't make them good or bad.
Preston, if you kill somone with agun, and then kill another by posioning them overyears.Did you not kill two poeple in cold blood?
Not necessarily. Little Timmy takes out his father's gun, thinking its unloaded and it goes off killing his friend. Not premeditated murder. People who deliberately poison anybody over more than one episode allways face the maximum penalty. Life without Parole, or, in other states, the Death Penalty.
How does this impact your argument about "Class struggle"?
I do not care about the means so much as the ends. And before you think it the ends do always not justifie the means.
Ms. Celeste, the majority of society doesn't think the way you do. They do care about the means. Killing five little old ladies to inherit their fortune is murder and carries a very stiff sentance. Swindling five little old ladies out of thier life-savings and homes carries a far lighter sentence.
The ends is that both the murder and swindler wanted to be rich. To Society, the ends matters a great deal.
We can argue examples all day long, Ms. Celeste. What I would like to here from you is your proposed solutions to the world's inequalities.
