But... erruptions are instant right? Like whoosh you are a Nova? Or are they slow? Because I feel like, like I'm melting. If I dont concentrate, I can feel my body start to.... slide or something.

And I'm really scared that if I let go I wont be able to come back... I dont want to be a puddle...

Philosophical differences aside - Jason's right. Go to a Rashoud Fac, they'll almost certainly be able to help.

Not all eruptions are instantaneous. Some are slow, painful ordeals before you are "fully grown" as it were.

I also have to agree that a Rashaud Clinic is the best way to go. I took another path, and I'm still seeing a therapist for the mental damage.

Look, if all else, if you aren't really a Nova, the people at the clinic will figure it out. Heck you could be suffering from Epilepsy, and the sensation you get is a symptom of it. The clinic will check you over physically, and if you have one of your "melting spells", they'll keep an eye on you and make sure nothing bad happens.

Heck, you may be a developing shapeshifter, and if that's the case, you're gonna have some fun.

I think what was meant, is that once you erupt, you have the responsibility to use that power as you see fit. Your abilities as a Nova are a pretty hefty thing you carry.

Could also mean societal expectation. The public puts quite a lot of pressure on Novas.

I just need to clear a few things. first I meant pretty much all the responsibilities you mentioned. and second this 'young man' is actually a young woman. it didnt even occur to me to tell you that ^_^.

i'm still at the rashoud center. they did some preliminary testing yesterday and i am a nova. they tell me that i actually erupted some time ago, and have been... I cant remember the techincal term, but its when your node isnt energized or whatever, since then. But they say they can tell.

I remember a couple months ago I had this terrible migraine, but i've always had migraines. So maybe that was when I errupted, I dont know. Not a very exciting story to tell, lol.

Today they want me to charge up I guess. They cant examine me fully until then. They say that I dont have anything to be scared of, but I think thats just them trying to calm me down.

Ok, now I really need some help. I did like you suggested, and like the docs said. I relaxed and let myself charge up, or whatever.

I thought that like nothing would happen right away. I was wrong, because as soon as I felt the energy or whatever, everything changed.

Its really hard to explain, but I could see everything around me. like 360 degress, and i wasnt confused or anything. I raised my hand, and thats when it got really weird. I could see right through it, but everything was blurry. like i was under water looking up. which as i found out was pretty much what was happening.

the doctor called it 'aquamorphic reconstruction'. it was sooo cool ^_^ I cant really pick things up very well. most things just drop right through my hands. I'm really stretchy too, and i dont have to breath either. They want me to stay for a few more days to run some tests or something.

Oh, they are also a bit fidgety about me. I guess im supposed to be able to turn the power off or something, without 'dorming'. I dont get why thats such a bad thing. I mean so what if I'm all watery when my node is charged? Is that bad?

Chicago. I'm not from Illinois, but it was the closest to us. I guess we could meet if you come to the center. They still say I need to stay for a few more days. More tests or something. And they say I need training as well, so I dont hurt myself or others. Which I understand.

My suggestion for the moment is Argus International, until you have more concrete ideas of what you want to do, and how you want to do it. They handle short term contracts real well, aren't pushy, and almost everyone I know who has left, has done so on good terms.

What does James "Prodigy" Meehan do?

A ton of stuff. Some of it is illegal, but I highly doubt that he would bring a newbie into that aspect of his life. Mostly, as he has already said, he is a good contact man for alot of people. He is a good someone to know. On the negative side, he is a public terat, and that may taint you by association, in some people's eyes.

As for Argus International, I will drop you a line to one of their "handlers". This guy isn't a recruiter, but someone who handles some of the free-contractors that come through Argus' door.
What they do is a variety of low intensity mercenary work (hostage rescue, bodyguarding, security, and the like).
It is run by a nova named John Argyle, and every thing I have heard about him is good.

Me, I'm hardly a sociapathic, or homicidal butcher, despite James' endorsement. Sometimes even his information is a bit off base.
