First off I will say this. I love Utopia. I think they have done great things. Like any large organization they have made some mistakes but come on look at all the good they have done and continue to do! Enough of that however promoting Utopia isn't why I am here.

I am here to say you do not need to be a T2Mer or Utopian to make a difference. Think of all you can do around you! How rewarding it can be. I know there are a lot of you who contribute every day and I say great job! But come on all of us could do a little something every single day. Heck just get a cat out a tree if that is all you feel like!

I think we all as Novas need to adopt a motto of "Do a good deed daily." If we did so it wouldn't matter if we are human or not (for those of you who argue it) because we will all get along better with the world at large. So get out there and help that little old lady across the street or save that bus full of children from going over the bridge!

Is Pessimism an aberration for Novas on here or something? Since I posted an hour or so ago I have resolved a hostage situation without bloodshed. Stopped four car accidents and plowed a field.

What have you done lately?

Found a way to clean up some nova's graffiti (no, not you), developed a new kind of armor for a team of city defenders, re-built the foundation of a historic landmark, and gave a speech on the preservation of our past to a bunch of civil engineers on a college field trip.

And that was just this morning.

I'm not saying what you're doing isn't good. I'm just saying don't do it without considdering the consequences.

Ally, I think your heart is in the right place but a good deed is not something we can agree on. I do a good deed by killing people. I remove those who would kill,oppress or exploit others.

I could go back a 80 years and see my great grand father protecting people by putting people into interment camps. His Grand father marched women and children across the great plains. They both were doing good deeds. They both were protecting people.

I understand that I am not a hero, and that I kill mothers,sons, sisters, fathers, daughters, brothers and friends. I do what I do, because if it wasn't me,it would be someone else,and they would do worse job.

Then again if you believe you can make a world a better place, by all means do so. By all means take actions into your own hands. i just hope you do not burn out and become what you fear the most.

Finally mastered making an authentic teriyaki sauce from scratch...and visited an alternate world where one can find some really tasty wild game birds about the size of a Buick. The combination of the two will hopefully make Long full and happy by the end of dinner.

I do not agree with this Y.T. and I never will. We should NEVER kill. There is never a place for it. We might have to punch some misguided Nova through a wall but we should always be able to end a violent situation without the loss of life. I know many of you are former or current Elites here and I want you all to understand there is ALWAYS a better way!

Ally, that is is your place to disagree with me. That is in fact what I was trying to prove, your good and my good are not the same. Is killing pure and clean? no. Is it better to kill one person if killing that person would save ten lives? That is an moral call. Those moral calls make us who we are. They are what removes us from animals.

Ally -- Infinite number of lives...? You come back from the dead? Regenerate at some ridiculous rate that might as well be coming back from the dead? Pop off a bajillion clones to do your bidding? Have a really unusual definition of "lives"? Bring in your alternate selves from parallel worlds (and sacrifice them)? Color me intrigued (if only morbidly).

Much like Mr. Digigeist I never truly go down for the count. If nothing else I will just come back with reinforcements.

Glad to hear you are doing something you like, Ally, with the added bonus its not destructive to society as a whole.

I'm curious to know what brought this on? For that matter, have you yet been confronted with a problem were the use of lethal force was even considered?

Well to be honest I have luckily have yet to run into another Nova I needed to become violent with. And most Baseline folks don't have what it takes to hurt me so I can end things without anyone getting hurt.

As for what brought this on? Ibiza of course was big reason. It hurts to see such rampant disregard for life. This has been brewing within me for a very long time. I figured it was time to stand up for what I believe in.

No offense meant to you Alchemist as obviously your node has given you a very mighty mind. However I truly believe you are over thinking the situation. You need to decide with your heart and instincts and they will not fail you. And if your actions cause something bad to happen further down the line you do what is right once again and fix it.

As of now I consider myself a helpful citizen hardly a vigilante. I do not judge the people who I stop I simply aid the police in capturing them. Or do my civic duty to stop a acccident from taking place.

Ally, who made you God? Really I want to know. Did a voice upon high tell you what the world needs? I am a nova and I didn't get no words with God, nor a higher power. I wasn't told what to do. I am just as confused as what I should do as I was last year. Fuck if I know what the world needs.

Oddly enough, Ally is doing something that is encouraged by good samaritan statutes. According to many states, if Ally sees an incident where his abilities can be used to reduce or prevent property damage or injury then he has a duty to the property owners or the people in danger. If he consciously decides not to act then he could risk being sued by those injured. Of course, if he interferes and makes a bigger mess then he is just as liable for that too. Obviously, this would apply to any of us in the same situation. Whether or not said nova would respect the system is an entirely different matter.

Keep up the good work, Ally. Just don't make things worse.
