My Opinion: What makes a creature "better" or "lesser" has nothing to do with species, and everything to do with how well they fill their niche. For intelligent species such as humans and novas, that expands to cover many levels of being.

My Opinion: Humans who strive to reach their full potential are doing more, with less, than novas who are content to swank around feeling superior. In my eyes, those humans are "better". But if a nova strives to reach their full potential, that potential is almost immeasurably greater than any human. That doesn't make the nova "better", just innately superior in terms of capability. But the nova who doesn't thus strive to improve themselves is no "better" than a human with the same attitude, despite their innate superiority.
