Trascript of Ezra”Gypsy Girl” Goodman and Alice “Good Alice” Smythe

Ezra “This one goes out to all the people at who are listening to this broadcast. I am in the wonderful city by the bay. The Lovely San Fransisco. I am Ezra “Gypsy Girl” Goodman, and I have Alice “Good Alice” Smyhte on the line. She has made it clear to me that she is here to talk as a person and not represent Utopia. So without further a due here she is.”


Alice “Yes,I am here as my own person, here to talk about nova relations and world affairs. I am also here to talk about my newest fund raising project to help the crumbling parts of major cities. Most the funding will be going to the decaying parts of Boston, and Baltimore's.”


Ezra“So, as I understand you refused to have a camera, and wished to do this purely as an audio interview. Any reasons? I mean the cameras sure to like you.”

Alice“Well, that is why. I want people to listen to my words and not look at my body”

Ezra“Good point. I have to say that you may lose out on some sources of income but that is not why you are here. I have to say that i will let you have short leash for you cause, as it is not pointing fingers at anyone. So, tell us all what are your plans?”

Alice“Well, I am planing on going to Ibiza, and help rebuild some areas that are still damaged. I will like most of my non Utopian work, will not be charging, but I will accept any and all donations of either money or time to help this or any other project I am working on.”

Ezra“Why do you work for free?I mean you could be charging tens of thousands of dollars a day for your work, yet from our records you are one the lowest paid Novas working for Utopia.”

Alice“Well, money is not something I care about. I have a house, wile it is one of the biggest in the world. I built it myself and had the land given to me by the US government in exchange for aid in the future of equal value of the land. I have repayed that value and I built the world's largest three bedroom house.”

Ezra“So why do you do what you do then?”

Alice“I like doing it. It is just that simple. I like working with my hands, and I have more than enough money. I measure my worth based on how many nights i can lay my head on my pillow and know that I the world will is a better place than it was when when I woke up.”

Ezra“That is nice way to live it at least seems that way. Now back to Ibiza. What do you think about what happened and how is is being handled?”

Alice “Well, I think there were a lot of mistakes made, some out fear others out hate. I will not point fingers at anyone. I am not smart enough to know the whole reasons behind the raid,the combat or the reaction it got. I will say that I am glad that the Spanish government is letting me into the country to help with the repair work.”

Ezra“And do you worry about the damage that this event has done to Utopia?”

Alice“You know, William Jefferson Clinton one said. 'Yesterday is Yesterday and if you try to recapture it, you will only lose tomorrow' . I think he meant it this way, if you only look at the past and see it with rose tented glasses you will miss the chances to make the world a better place. So sure, the bad PR and all that hurts, but I am still here and I am still working to make the world a better place. I haven't changed my goals.”

Ezra“So, then why not join one the team tomorrows?”


Alice“I have a poster standing in one of their uniforms. I think there was only a dozen or so printings, all life sized. I am sure you have seen it. N! Has two copies I know of.”

Ezra“Yes,I have. You looked like a hero. You looked so powerful and and so alive.”

Alice“That is just it. I have a copy of it on my wall, but I have “I am not a hero. I do not live in a comic. I am just a person who wants to help others.”

Ezra“Well, that is fair enough. I would like to say that you are a hero too many people to count. We got mail from all over the world when said you would be interviewed. You know, the Greens from Mississippi, say their daughter is joining Utopia because how were there during the flood, and stayed around until job was done. There are many others just like it. Yet you say you are no hero?If you aren't then who is?”

Alice “I do what is right, because it is right. I help people because it right. I don't need or want a title. I sure don't want to be called a hero, cause in the end when you start calling people heroes you put them up on pedastools. I don't want to be on one. My head is in the clouds enough as it is. Besides, no matter how good of a job i would do,if I was a hero, someone would want to knock me down. That is what this wold loves. I am not a hero. I am not better than you. I just am.”

Ezra “It sounds like you fear what you are. You fear the power you have. I could be wrong but that is just how it sounds to me.”

Alice.” In some ways yes. I can't really tell you how or why. It is just unnerving on some levels.”
