The trial of the Nova Wakinyan ended today with the Nova being found innocent of all charges. The defense spearheaded by Nova defense lawyer Ulysses Bailey released a general statement that they were pleased by the jury's verdict. However the team is now working to consolidate the 12 pending civil suits filed against their client into one class action lawsuit.

The Cook County Circuit Court today was surrounded by several groups of protesters and almost as much security. Many believed the Teragen would use this case as cause to attack the city. However no attack resulted and things remained peaceful even after the verdict was read.

Analysts agree that Chief Prosecutor Mark VanAllen was overzealous with the charges brought against Wakinyan ranging from attempted murder to criminal negligence and assault with a deadly weapon. A motion filed by the prosecution late Monday during deliberation to declare a mistrial was dismissed. No proof was found to substantiate claims of Nova Jury tampering.

Chicago itself seems divided on the issue. A CourtTv poll conducted directly after the verdict indicated that 50% where not pleased with the trials verdict, 45% was pleased and 5% have no opinion.
