President Portman has served two terms and now it is time to introduce the candidates for the 2016 Presidential Race.

A vague history for each candidate will be given. The candidates will be considered canon NPCs for the board. Come election time a poll will be posted and voting will occur with the winner being declared President of the United States as of January 21st, 2017.

Feel free to discuss the election in character. The history's are vague so as to give you freedome to flesh out the individual candidates. Please do not post anything so radical as to effectively destroy any particular candidate. No CoMA ties, no impending criminal charges, nothing like that please.

Candidate Number One!

Republican Candidate: Susan Collins, Republican Senator out of Maine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Collins

In the Aberrant Universe she is still a moderate Republican who has taken up the concept of security for the U.S. in the Nova Age as her banner point. Ever since the Amp Room she's advocated legislation specifically addressing Novas with deadly powers and increasing active recruitment of novas into American security agencies.

Candidate Number Two!

Democratic Candidate: Barack Obama, Democratic Senator out of Illinois.

A moderate Democrat, Obama has made a name for himself by re-defining the Democratic party as a party of faith, at least in part. Thus the Democrats have been able to re-capture socially liberal voters who felt ostracised from the completely humanistic Democratic party. Novas have not taken central focus in his campaign as of yet.

Candidate Number Three!

American Truth candidate: Hugh Hewitt, former radio talk-show host and junior senator of Ohio.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Hewitt

In the Aberrant Universe, after the election of President Pendelton the splinter factions that broke off from the Republican party coalesce into the American Truth Party. The American Truth Party focuses on "main-stream American" values (Conservative Christian social values), conservative business policies, returning America to a position of pre-eminence in the world and are relatively anti-Utopia without being anti-nova. Hugh Hewitt, a popular radio talk-show host moved into politics in 2012 as one of a small number of American Truth candidates that won Federal office.

Candidate Number Four!

Libertarian Party Candidate: Laura Pendelton

After the two terms of President Portman returned America to old-fashioned non-libertarian policies of "excessive taxes", "intrusive laws" and foreign intervention Pendelton has recaptured the candidacy of the Libertarians to regain the presidency for "common sense" politics of the 21st century.
