Alright. I'll get this area started with a few items that haven't gotten much limelight before now. Weaknesses, as first presented in the Aberrant Players Guide, are like Extras. You can apply a weakness to a power, and it reduces the power in some way, making it cheaper to buy, or allowing Extras to be added. It can also make the power feel more unique to your character, and give it a specialized feel.

This weakness has been changed from the original version to make it fit better with the other canon abilities. This weakness significantly changes the way Density Decrease works, making it less effective in combat, but in some ways more versatile. As such, I'm making it only a 1 point weakness.

[size:+1]Flow Through[/color]
<blockquote>
Applicable Power: Density Decrease
Weakness Value: 1
Description: Due to your unique method of manifesting 'Density Decrease', your density does not actually change when you use your power. In fact, the only thing that changes is your ability to pass through solid matter. Perhaps you've learned to move atoms out of your way, or maybe you're decreasing the density of the objects around you so that you may pass through them, but regardless of how you do it, the overall effect is simple. You can pass through walls, you can swim through the earth, but if somebody shoots you with a gun, or hits you with their fist, it's still gonna hurt. You're not a ghost while using density decrease, and as such your just as vulnerable to getting killed as anyone else, but this also leave you free to punch back. Good thing you can dodge through that wall to get out of the way of their punches, though.
System: Remove all damage reduction features and weight reduction features from the 'Density Decrease' power. While this leaves only the movement abilities from levels 1 through 3, it also allows the character to participate in combat normally. Does not allow passage through living matter of any kind (including trees or grass).

Another possibility was that this could be a technique of the Molecular Manipulation Suite. What do you think?

Question.

Is there a Nova Power that allows a Nova to be "phased" or "intangible" already, that allows objects to pass through them?

Neil: I was thinking of that as a possibility when I first created the ability for Alchemist. It makes sense, since it is, in effect, a weakened form of a level two power, and it's thematically appropriate. Perhaps I'll write that out seperately. I also considdered it as a technique for Elemental Manip (earth, specifically).

Endeavor: Only Density Decrease allows you to pass through matter. While there is an enhancement that lets you come close (dex enhancement), it doesn't allow other objects to pass through you.

However, that wasn't really the intent of this weakness. The purpose of this is to negate the damage-avoidance effects of Density Decrease in favor of the more useful (outside of combat) ability to pass through solid walls.

I've re-posted this as a molecular manip technique.

Ignoring Density Decrease, there are several.
1) Matter Mimic (Chamilian?) allows it but I don't recall the rate.
2) Earth Mastery would presumably let you travel through the Earth (but not other things).
3) Transmit could be defined as "Other side of solid object" and it would work if it were in range.

On a side note, although this is a weakness, it is also a strength since it would (I assume) allow DD2+ characters to attack normally.

I dislike the flight at 4+ dots. If you want both flight and this DD, you should buy both. Granted, this makes the 4th and 5th dots of this power pretty weak, but that's very true for lots of other powers as well (forcefield, invisibility, etc).

OK, as it has become obvious that adding this to the MM suite is inappropriate, I'm going to update this weakness. Doc Troll is right about the flight (which I only added in because the last few levels of DD with this weakness were completely useless). The name also needs to change to something...both more an less descriptive. However, the core concept of this weakness is *not* going to change.

I feel no compunctions about changing this around since no one's actually supported it yet.

(Edit: a *not* was forgotten in an important place.)

Looks pretty good. I'll vote yes.
