Name: Ashnod
Real Name: Unknown
Allegiance: Teragen

Gender: Female
Height 5'7"
Weight 142 lbs

Appearance: She is recognized predominantly by how quantum, or taint, has changed her: luminous, blood-eyes that give off millions of tiny spheres of energy as they drift horizontally from her sockets, vanishing a few seconds later; a "crack" or "bolt" of energy that extends down the right half of her body, as though her body has been cracked by the very energy within it, or branded by some quantum lightning, either way it glows the same red as her eyes; and a halo of similar color surrounds her when certain quantum abilities are in use, of documented connection only Temporal powers, but this halo is again of the same color red, and cascades outward like liquid rippling and crashing in a storm, crimson waves as one observer has called them.

Her apparent age is somewhere in her early 20's, with long black hair that has a single red streak which begins where the crack of energy becomes visible on her forehead. Her body is cut like that of a gymnast, strong arms and lithe form, with obvious quantum-given beauty to augment it. She has displayed documented levels of superhuman power, agility, and fortitude.

Covering a sizeable portion of her shoulders and back is an intricate design which appears tribal in nature. Obviously, given the technique involved, this is the artistry of the bloodworking nova Stigmata but neither she nor Ashnod have ever commented if the design means anything. This design has only been seen since 2013, so it is a recent addition.

She is normally seen wearing black/red or white/red combinations of clothing, usually slacks and jackets. The crack of energy down her body normally causes the red blouses she favors to glow slightly.

Powers: The full extent of Ashnod's abilities are only speculated upon. She is known to manipulate Temporal and Spatial phenomena to a frightening degree: it is rumored she was once halted an F-5 tornado dead in its tracks and froze a multi-Nova combat in place. She is also able to connect points in space and pull them together, either for the purpose of travel, destruction, or in conjunction with her temporal control to develop a barrier of protection. In addition to increased physical levels, well into the superhuman range, she's demonstrated on many occasions the ability to hold sway over an audience, and it is believed she can alter her appearance. Some whisper that her power over reality isn't limited to time and space, but if that is true, she has yet to publicly reveal such control.

Known Facts:

Ashnod is one of the most recognized members of the Teragen. The first sightings of her date back to 2006, when she had yet to aberrate to the degree that she is today. Back then, she had normal, green eyes and her flesh was unchanged by the red energy which so defines her image now. Originally part of a group of Teragen-sympathetic Novas calling themselves the Catalysts, that group has seemingly broken apart and she appears to work independently.

Between the years of 2008 and 2012, after her physical aberrations had manifested, she was highly active, interrupting science conferences and XWF events alike to lecture on the nature of Nova evolution and transhuman perception. Her activity curtailed in late 2012 and was almost non-existent in 2013, though a few sightings in 2014 hint that she might be starting up once more. She continues to be active on the OpNet, self-publishing dissertations and papers which cite her views on the differences between baseline and nova.

Ashnod claims the Terat Apep is her daughter, a claim that is also made by Apep herself. The two of them worked closely between 2008 and 2012 and were often considered the "leaders" of the Catalysts. She is also known to be very close to the independant nova Elizabeth (aka Wizard), and the nova journalist Sherazahde also claims to have known her prior to 2006.

The Directive and Project Utopia both consider her highly dangerous and caution their agents against interacting with her. She is currently wanted for questioning involving her activities with a known killer (Apep).

Her name is taken from a character in the novel The Brothers' War, who was an artificer whom, unlike all of her contemporaries, worked with nerves and bone rather than steel and wood.
