Name: Singularity
Real Name: Franklin Alden
Allegiance: Independent
Gender: Male
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 200 lbs
AppearanceAn attractive, well built (both beyond human limits), late-twenties male, Franklin’s only aberrations appears to be his completely silver eyes, hair and eyebrows that appear to be made up of a metallic substance, and an apparent lack of body hair. In the past, he carried himself with a cavalier and certain air, almost arrogant. His eufiber clothing reflected his current conditions: tres chic suits when at the Amp Room and comfortable fatigues when in the field. As of late, Franklin's attitude has undergone a number of changes. Since last year, he has lost his haughty attitude in exchange for quiet curiosity. Very recently, Franklin's attitude has turned again, now to a feeling of humble enlightenment colored by a humor. For a time, he changed his eufiber to a simple set of white pants and long sleeved shirt. Color has now returned to his wardrobe, as has a sense of style that accentuates and displays his superhuman body.
PowersAside being at the peak of human potential, Franklin’s physical abilities have been augmented well beyond human limits. He has exhibited incredible dexterity and is known as one of the strongest and toughest novas alive. His reaction time and instincts have also been honed beyond human capacity. Franklin has proven to be incredibly durable, resisting devastating physical, energy, and even mental assaults on countless occasions. He has also publicly shown the ability to energize his hands and feet with enough quantum energy to rip through nearly any defense.
Since 2014, Franklin has been expressing intelligence beyond his prior limits, engaging many intelligent novas in introspective conversations. There are also rumors he has begun using limited telekinesis and teleportation but they have not been confirmed. However, it was also confirm in 2015 that Franklin can fly under his own power and his appearance has become quantum-enhanced.
Known FactsFranklin Alden was born in 1979 to a poor Virginian family, destined to a working class life. He performed unremarkably in school, preferring to participate in sports and drinking with his friends. After high school, Franklin found work at the local foundry and slipped into the disgruntled blue collar life typical of the late nineties and the turn of the century. In late 2002, Franklin’s life took a radical turn. While moving ore to be melted, a nearby coke furnace exploded, throwing Franklin and his coworkers across the foundry. Instead of crushing and burning him beyond recognition, Franklin erupted and used his new-found physical prowess and invulnerability to heal and rescue his coworkers.
Reveling in his new power, Franklin followed his more violent nature and joined up with DeVries as an elite. Taking the name Singularity in reference to his goal of being the highest ranked elite, Franklin spent the next twelve years taking numerous contracts, often acting as the sole nova against entire forces of baselines or smaller squads of less experienced elites. He did his best to amass a large fortune, spending enough to keep up the appearance of his success but apparently still holding some of the money back. In the spring of 2014, Franklin took a contract in Kashmir, tracking a small insurgent group of novas into the Himalayan Mountains. Franklin returned two months later with the insurgent novas and without his arrogant attitude. After delivering his quarry, he all but withdrew from the public world, apparently turning into a recluse. DeVries has removed him from the active elites list, causing him to be disqualified from his long held position of 8th ranked elite in the world. After injuring and killing three rouge elites, Franklin joined Utopia as a consultant and trainer for dealing with elites in the field. He has also been seen with Regan "Codex" McLachlan outside of Addis Ababa, taking on an obvious bodyguard role.
In September 2014, Franklin left the employ of Project Utopia after recovering from a particularly brutal and spectacular ambush in the Kashmir DMZ. Any attempts by the media to contact him were met by his legal counsel, affirming Franklin's wish of privacy. Aside an occasional post to various OpNet boards, Regan McLachlan's (at the time known as Saimhe, now known as Samhra) surprising announcement of their upcoming marriage soon afterwards was the only solid statement regarding his status at that time. Since then, Franklin has appeared a few times in public, almost always in the presence of Samhra. However, the number of public sightings of the couple jumped to a much higher number starting in the summer of 2015.
