Name: Renaissance
Real Name: Anna Lei
Allegiance: Independent
Gender: Female
Height: 152 cm
Weight: 43 Kilograms

Appearance: Anna is clearly Chinese in descent, from her slight build to her sugar-brown skin. Her appearance is quantum-enhanced, but not to the extreme, and her slanted brown eyes are older than the obvious youthfulness of her fine-boned features. Her jet-black hair is straight and long, usually worn in a simple ponytail when she is working, or out when she is not. She tends to wear neutral shades, and makes all of her own clothing. When she is using her powers, a pattern reminiscient of both clouds in Chinese paintings and Renaissance scrollwork wreathes around her body.

Powers: Anna Lei is able to alter matter on a molecular level, shaping it to her will, and possesses enhanced dexterity. This makes her a master ceramics artist, while her ability to subtly manipulate heat to either increase its effect or alter its temperature allows her to fire all of her works easily. She has also demonstrated a certain immunity to both energy and physical attacks, while even at her messiest, she is still superhumanly elegant and attractive. Her senses are all in the superhuman range, as is her creative abilities and her talent of finding weaknesses in anything. Lately, she has also manifested the gift of altering her appearance at will in a manner less dramatic than shapeshifting, ranging from matching someone or some culture's idea of attractive to mimicking other's looks to 'fading' into the crowd and even creating a horrifying appearance if she should so choose.

Known Facts: Anna Lei was the eldest in a family of six children, a submissive mother and a domineering father with traditional Confucian beliefs. She had little education, having started work in a workshop that specialised in hand-made china at the age of nine because her family lived in one of Taipei's poorest districts. Her childhood was hard, but somehow she has managed to remain a bright, sunny and compassionate person to be around.

Anna erupted after failing to meet the quota she was to produce one day at the factory, fearing her father's beating and not bringing home any money that night. Her movements became a blur as she molded the clay flawlessly, actually firing it in her own hands, and painting the patterns with a perfection that not even a machine could match. She was only fourteen at the time.

Two years later, Anna is one of the best ceramics artists in the world. Her enhanced intelligence allowed her to finish her basic education swiftly, and she is now working on an art major at Yale University as an exchange student. She took on her nova name of Renaissance because it was the first Western art word she learnt, after asking who painted the Mona Lisa and when. Her English is very articulate, even formal, and she has no time for those who use obscenities.

Anna maintains a modest yet comfortable lifestyle for herself and her siblings. She managed to get custody of them from her parents, using a bit of judicious bribery with her artworks, and they all now live in New York.

Anna is an independent nova at present, selling her works to anyone with the money. Her artwork is displayed in such diverse places as Prodigy's NewsGround in Tokyo, the private collection of Franklin 'Singularity' Alden and she even has a piece in the foyer of the T2M Europe Headquarters in Venice.
