Appearence: Strong chin and tan with just a hint of freckles Gerald is a good looking man who doesn't show his age thanks to his node. His build is nice, but nothing spectacular and neither are his features. He's handsome enough, but in the world of novas he just doesn't scream out fabulous. The only thing about him that is exceptional are his absolutely piercing blue eyes.

Powers: Gerald Haney is reputed to have some of the sharpest nova senses on the planet. His vision stretched across the electromagnetic spectrum with incredible precision and he can see farther than most telescopes. His hearing is as equally acute and he possesses another non-standard sense in which the detection of quantum sources is laughably easy. Beyond his sensory abilities he only posseses above average human strength and stamina.

History: Gerald enjoys telling the story of his eruption, seemingly amused by the less than dramatic nature compared to many novas. He was late for his job and he lost his keys. That's it. Since then he's worked part-time for Utopia as a research assistant in their labs and part-time as a bartender at the Amp Room. Even with his reletively lenghthy existence as a nova he has shown no apparent increase in his abilities and seems perfectly fine with that fact.
