Name: Ann Winterbourne
Nova Handle: Idoru
Allegiance: Independent
Gender: Female
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 120 lbs

Appearance:
Ann Winterbourne is difficult to describe due to the malleability of her appearance both live and on the OpNet. What can be determined is that she has a supermodel's height and slimness in all of her incarnations and an anima of scrolling computeresque letters and numbers.

Known Powers:
Idoru's known powers revolve around technology and others' perceptions of herself. She is not a shapeshifter in the true sense of the word, but merely one who can alter her appearance to suit the fears and desires of those who see her or assume the features of another person. She can project her appearance abilities over any kind of visual and aural media, create complex illusions involving touch, sight, hearing and scent and control technology to the point that she can travel over radio waves. Interestingly enough, she is beyond the height of baseline development physically and mentally, but has no more affinity to computers or engineering than any ordinary individual.

General History:
Idoru takes her handle from William Gibson's book about a completely digital celebrity named Rei. Before eruption, she was an attractive but small-time model named Ann Winterbourne who worked as a prostitute on the side in Sydney, Australia. One of her customers was a Japanese digital artist named Takeshi Takamura who worked for an Australian-based video games company on a temporary contract. He arranged for Ann to work as as the model for a Lara Croftesque game. Unfortunately, she didn't quite fit the look that the game's developers were trying to achieve, and they dropped both her and Takeshi.

Takeshi blamed Ann for the loss of his job in a violent argument outside of the games studio. His frustration combined with her anger caused her to erupt, becoming an idoru made flesh.

Ann's sheer malleability gained her a niche in the nova acting industry as the person to hire for video games and CGI films. She took on the nova name Idoru and quickly acquired a cult following amongst OpNet geeks and games players alike.

Five years later, Idoru has a certain popularity but has announced that she wishes to seek opportunities in more traditional media from painting to television.
