Chris Kell was the quintessential All-American football player. He was tall, athletic, and solidly built. He wasn't a bad student, he'd been told early on by his father that if he found he was slacking off there, or that he was being "given" grades he'd be pulled from playing football in a heartbeat. He wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he did well enough to satisfy his father. He'd been popular and had several scholarship offers from Texas A&M and Montana State-Northwestern. That all disappeared when he errupted.
After his erruption in a school football game, both of the offers from the universities were withdrawn. The game itself was called and a week later his team lost without him due to regulations barring his participation. Thus far Chris has shown some signs of depression over his loss and the way his eruption turned his life upside down. Through it all his father has remained steadfast in supporting him. Many of his friends have left him, and it's starting to wear on the young man's mind.
