Doug (and I assume Anna) have another day or three of dudgery ahead (although Doug will try to link to KB again), and now that we have a location i assume we'll try to get jobs in that location.

Anna will stay with Doug - I just didn't see a reason to post that, because it sounded stupid. If the plan hasn't changed that much there is no reason for her to say anything about it. Anna made her offer, Gregory and Raider chose a different approach. Thats ok.

I'm preparing an update for sometime today ... I'm going to advance another couple of days.

Lily what is Caly doing during this time? Also how is the new PC coming along?

Anna's offer was more of a "this tool is available" type thing. My expectation is that we will be building secret tunnels into their buildings and the like, but first we need to know where to build it and that sort of thing. Seriously, tunnel manipulation is pretty huge in this environment.

I didn't mean to sound upset. Its just that Anna wouldn't take much initiative unless told to do so. I know that she could be of real help here, I'm waiting for my cue smile

Well...hm. Would there be any point in trying to move the snow outside to cover the way in, or be rid of tracks? It seems like most of the scouting has been via flying or incorporeal scouts, but if there's been walking to and fro, it might be fruitful.

Or if there's any weather effects that could help the team out, she could do that. I consider her to have 'spent' her exp on some more weather control, so it'd be easier for her now. Perhaps some clouds to make shadows, or fog... She'd avoid manipulations that were too overt, to try to keep her interference from being detected.

The new character is just about ready, I think. I'll probably have some questions for you tonight about background; what skills, what backgrounds, etc etc.

Until very recently, Gregory did leave tracks in the snow (he can't fly). Covering them might be prudent. As of the latest chapter though, Gregory is able to sneak around without leaving tracks. (Catfooted)

And just like that Calypso the PC becomes Calypso the NPC

Lily is still working on her next PC so it'll be the four of you for a little bit, though with luck not too long.

Lily, I've mentioned it before but I'll be on vacation next week and have limited internetting access, I know for sure I'll be able to get some time on Sunday this weekend so if you can get me a draft (even a rough one) by Friday I'll be able to comment Friday and then check for updates Sunday. I'm hoping I can introduce your new character w/o 4/14

So, Raider would have checked out what was upstairs from the torture chamber. Any insight on that? Also, Raider will put his big brain toward that pattern of buildings being demolished. (analyse weakness engaged to help figure it out.)

The microchip facility is NOT within the dome - you haven't been there yet

Sorry, the description of what he found came right after the paragraph about the tunnels converging under the big dome and I misread it to mean it was inside the dome.

Ok, Raider doesn't need much sleep so he will explore the building above the torture chamber tonight and the dome after that.

OK so Raider will explore the dome and investigate beyond the torture chamber - Are the rest of you just resting or working?

Just to be clear what Doug is suggesting is that one of the water run off tunnels be connected to someone's basement or tunnel system. If we knew more about the torture room that might do, but that's unlikely to be an electronics shop so maybe not.

It suddenly occurs to me that I might be accused of thinking like a Northerner - that is to say I was assuming that you would know that being January any precipitation will likely be snow not rain.

So just to be clear - it's snowing outside laugh

Ah. Well then...

I guess Raider will still help Anna create the escape tunnel just as a damn good thing to have anyway. After that he has just developed a sudden and very strong urge to visit that shining object in orbit. The dome and torture chamber will have to wait.

Preparing an update soon:

Fox - Checking out the satellite (I'll handle this via PM)
Anna - creating access tunnel
Courier - causing some damage?
Gregory - ?

Fox - expect a PM shortly
the rest of you - I'll update once I hear from Gregory or after lunch whichever comes first.

Courier is going to hold off on that. Doug doesn't want to knock down walls for the sake of knocking down walls. Doug wants to end the system and kill Squidward, and since that doesn't appear to be on the table he'll bide his time till it is.

I was afraid the link would drop. Distance in space is something else. 2400 miles is nothing.

On the other hand I could get "extra range" and have it work line of sight, i.e. unlimited as long as there's no interruptions... which wouldn't help much since we're underground, but still.

LOS does not mean unlimited.

It means that you must be able to see the target regardless of distance. Practically speaking you can no long make out a man sized object after a couple few miles w/o mechanical or quantum assistance, even in space that still holds. Although the range is probably slightly greater since there is no air to interfere with vision.

Courier would be better off buying more dots of P-Link or working toward mastery unless he heavily invested in Mega-Percep.

I just got an crazy idea - the comet is made of rock or something similar to rock. Can EA:Earth affect it? If so... maybe Anna can try to slow it down, reshape it... whatever? Maybe a little? Just fooling with my thoughts.

I have been mulling over what sort of QC's could be created that could damage or destroy a comet. A giant mole-like creature that burrows into the comet and then detonates, maybe.

We could work together maybe? Even if I can't move the comet from its path, maybe I can change its density - make it more brittle for example?

Gravity Control would help a lot. MC is both Q5 and iffy but that's a longer story.

Can Anna function in space? I know Gregory has Adapt.

Best to turn it into sand. That would spread out during flight and eventually burn up in the air.

Interesting. Doug purchased it this time so it functions at the ST's whim this Chapter. On the other hand he started with Mega-Stamina 2 so he should be at least partly resistant to vaccum... meansing that our entire crew is pretty space worthy or close to it.
