Yah. It was a compromise between what I wanted to do and what I have time to do. Originally it'd started out as a story about getting new eufiber & a training session with background details worked in... but I've had too many days away from home. Eventually I decided that something right now was better than a perfect update only in my head.

I'm back, and thinking I need to get some internet at home again. Sorry about the delay, post is up and ready to go.

All I've created a new sticky topic, the Scratch Pad. Basically between using different computers to post it makes it tough for me to keep notes, thus I'll keep track of your Quantum reserves, health, etc there. Any effects that I need to keep from you all I will have to figure out some other way but this serves both myself and you in keeping this kind of information available.

Feel free to add your own if you want to take notes on the current game, just keep one post and edit it as you need to.

Also I wanted to add that I assumed that any Temp Taint was worked off during the down time. If you'd prefer not, or even want to add some please let me know.

KB (as noted in her profile I think) professionally turns quantum into electricity (recharging batteries and the like).

It's likely she has the tools of her trade around somewhere (i.e. a light bulb to show she's the real deal), or failing that I'm sure she can make a sizeable spark between two fingers so we can find a flashlight or something.

But if someone wants to fess up to having spent points on Biolum this is the time to shine.

Seven is the only one inside that is part of the conversation I think. Raider is outside scouting out where to place the poles and cables. Courier is fetching the material to build them with.

Neither you nor Courier has moved from inside the house as of yet I haven't seen any posts to the contrary. At this point everybody except Gregory is in the basement and Gregory has just come back in from outside.

EDIT: Correction Courier said he was gathering materials but he did not specify where or how (other than using flight).

Please keep in mind that if you don't say "Courier goes out into the storm ...." then he doesn't because all I have is what you write and what I write.

It's not entirely clear to me whether the desired materials are inside, outside, or both. I think I'll assume both. I.e. there is a limited supply of I-beams and the like inside.

I-beams would probably be outside, rebar and cables inside unless you are talking a full spool of power line wire which would clearly be outside. Ultimately you should as Raider where he keeps his stuff though

I thought I had mentioned that Raider was going outside to scout out the locations to plant the beams. He is incorporeal.

Well... looks like we'll see. With Flight on hopefully any circuts being made will go from the rod to the ground... but it's also possible my mental image is wrong (i.e. that Doug is standing on the air while "Doug prepares to open the overhead garage door so that he can bring the massive pieces of metal outdoors." It's also possible that the electricty will jump from the rod to him to the wall or ceiling.

Electricity's supposed to take the path of least resistance. If you're not on the ground, you should be ok - but that won't help much if your hand gets burned to the i-beam as the metal heats up from all the electricity pouring through it.

IC Doug knows what KB is capable of and if this is a lot higher than that then he probably wants to be the one to deal with it anyway rather than let it run around Raiders shop.

OOC, well, the big guy is supposed to be a stamina brick so this is a trial run as much as anything. In large part it depends on who or what is generating this effect. If it's natural, or even a by product of the storm, presumably we're looking at something up to 10 die lethal (I think average would be less than that but quirky stuff could be more).

If that sounds weak then I'll point out KB's bolt starts with [8] lethal. This means a baseline has no chance to survive a hit, and people do in RL survive being hit by lightning (although obviously it's something to avoid). I.e. KB's bolt should be a lot worse than a natural one.

If it's a directed L-bolt from a weather manip, then it could be 10[10], assuming we aren't dealing with Q6+ (god help us). Q-Bolt could be 20[10] (ouch).

But we're probably dealing with ball lightning since I'm assuming a 20[10] bolt would have put a big hole in the wall first (although with that 'seeking' extra that's not a sure thing).

Lily, while talking with Courier , we all left the basement and were in the garage when the lightning struck. After Courier got zapped, the lightning invaded the house.

Hey folks. Things seem to be moving extra slow (though admittedly one PC is KOed and another is outside out of contact.

I'm going to wait till tomorrow to see if you guys post any more otherwise I'll advance forward until Courier wakes up so that we can get moving again.

As an aside things seem to be moving much slower in posting frequency these days. Are people busy with "Real life" or is it a factor of the current state of the game? Or Both? Let me know, if I can I will try and make adjustments on my end to help revive the sleeping beast.

I enjoy this game and would hate to see it fall by the wayside.

I'm a little busier. But really I'm just waiting to find out what I see. Courier's got enough people around to watch him, the storm hasn't attacked again and the invading lightning's acting very odd.

For a few weeks there things were pretty busy for me IRL. Now though I'm just waiting on the story. Raider is outside in the storm and has no idea what is going on inside. It's only been a minute or two at the most in game time since he last heard from Courier so he wouldn't have any reason to be worried yet.

Sorry! My schedule's been wack...new job is taking some getting used to!
