13 inches of fresh powder snow last night...... The most I've ever seen. I knew going to yankee territory was a good idea.. now if only I can remember how to make a snowman...

We have 4 inches o snow (at the moment) with 20-30 mph winds and a temperature of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C). With wind chill it is even colder. My first Chicago winter. The locals tell me that it is still warm outside!?

I've lived in Florida my whole life; I've never actually seen snow outside of a grocery store freezer.

It snowed here about a week ago. Something silly like 1/4 or 1/2 an inch and it melted by noon. But still, it's a nice change from the summer that wouldn't end, 2 weeks ago it was still in the 90s.

You sound like you are in Dallas Conduit. That describes our weather perfectly.

It is 12 degrees F outside. None of the snow from last week has even melted. A friend told me that the snow will not melt until spring. frown I want to go back to California!

I love snow. Grew up with vast quantities of the stuff in upstate New York (where there are only two seasons: winter, and bad skiing). Missouri has been hell for me, in that the summers are long and brutal, and the winters are virtually non-existant. So I am simply tickled pink with this recent snowfall, and hope for more through the winter.

I've seen real snow basically 3 times in my life. Doesn't snow much where I'm from, I'm hoping for more now that I'm a little further north.

I've lived in Minnesota my entire life, you know the state often believed to be part of Canada?

We haven't had much snow yet, but we should soon. It's averaged below freezing all week, but very liitle snow.

You mean its not actually a part of Canada? ;p

We got a little in Iowa tonight. Not enough to really even call snow, just enough gusting flurries to make even those in deep denial realize Old Man Winter is finally here.

We got our first snow this morning. I'm less enthusiastic about snow than most people in this thread though. The amount we got here sounds about like Iowa, not much accumulation but it was still all white when I got up this morning.

This isn't the thread you're looking for.

Move along.

Well, Minnesota is sort of making up for lost itme.

We have about 3 inches on the ground total. SO not like the Minnesota of my youth.

Well I intended on posting some pictures of our snow, but something is going on with the upload. I'll try it again tonight.

In any event, it snowed across the whole valley. It snows a lot in the mountain, but it's rare for it to stick on the valley floor. Last night we got between .5 and 2 inches depending location. I made the saddest little snowman from the snow on my car. And since nobody stocks up on salt for the roads the whole city basically shut down until 10am.

They've closed up the roads to the mountains which is a shame the ski communities have had such bad seasons lately. Today and tomorrow are what we call "Ski & Golf" days. Ski in the morning, wait for noon when it's back up to 40 or 50 and tee off!

So now that we've actually had a winter I'm ready for those 110F days that I love so much.

I hope it snows this winter here! It never snows much around Barcelona, but it'd be the first time I'd ever have lived somewhere and it snowed.. .and the second time I'd ever seen snow.

Ooo... snow.
