Be careful about posting too much in the way of actions and remember to state them as intentions. Things you do can have consequences in this room.

Just remind me since there was alot of discussion leading up to this jump. We went back to the timeline (different?) where we found Thetis? Project Proteus existed but its after the Aberrant War and China fired its missles? And this isn't gold world right? We are here to raid Proteus archives, yes?

Just checking to make sure.

You are on gold world actually and only 3 years after the first asteroid strike. Not the world where you found Thetis that destroyed itself in nuclear war. So yes, the quantum nullifier is still in this timeline's version of Proteus' HQ.

Mr Fox grins mischievously...

It didn't when you went to it later, but that was years after the asteroid strike. If there is a continuity issue there then we will say it is an alternate gold world. In the lead up to this you guys mentioned going to gold world as the first jump to test out Loreans abilities. You guys also wanted to raid the Proteus HQ. So Lorean took you to a gold world where you could do that.

No, he is has remained at his current apparent age. You've just lost all your abilities and megas. You retain your regular attributes at their current levels.

The nullifier is down on juice, but that doesn't really matter. If you get them drained of juice the playing field will be in your favor. 8 minutes is not enough time to hack the systems down there, or even grab all the gadgets in the vault. In other words, you guys won't be able to get all that much in 8 minutes.

If more than 3 people want weapons I can add more to the description. I'm assuming right now that Steve, Ulric and Cody will want them. Anyone else?

I got the impression that the nullifier will only work inside the room.

Yeah it would be good to clarify that. Yes Cody will want a weapon since I am asuming he can't access his hidden arsenal...

Also I question. Ziggurat posted for rapid recovery. I looked it up and this only increases your normal rate per hour. Do we have a house rule that lets us use rapid recovery immediately?

Otherwise I think the option is "dying for power" which I might have Cody do to get a single point so he can use Q leech on our foes and power up somemore...

Nullifier will work anywhere. Some had suggested not fighting inside for fear of the collateral damage.

On the other hand, entering the room you will have them at a strategic bottleneck. I'm good with it either way.

Dying for power yes. However, q leech isn't going to do jack for you if you turn on the field, and if you don't you risk an ass-whooping.

Fox - can you give some more details about how large the room actually is. I was under the impression that we had to travel down the elevator shaft to get to the room. That already is a bottleneck itself. And from the way you described the effect, the field reached well within the shaft, too, since Kyria and Ulric were still on their way down and got affected, too.

Maybe it's just a question of continuity and I didn't catch the part when we were all on the same floor with Meri.

How large is the nullifier? I suppose I can carry it with relative ease having Str5 + M-Str4?

Joani is not the strategist for such things, she just tries to keep things as harmless as possible - knocking them k.o. or tying em up with something - which reminds me. The elevator is hung up on cables?

If so, they are quite sturdy. Joani will try to use those as ropes to tie the Aberrants up once we've captured them. If that is not possible then I hope Omar has a good idea.

Just my 2 cents

I think he did that before it became clear that we weren't going to have time. Omar probably has some meditation so if he had another half hour he could probably recharge somewhat.

Our first move *has* to be the nullifier. You *might* be able to leech off the q batteries that fuel the local teleporter... but those might be what runs the nullifier so I wouldn't suggest it. Another option is to have Morgan open up a gate and leech him, Mike, or Lorean but I'll leave the talking them into that to you, and I'm personally not fond of dying for power anyway.

Speaking of which I think you *have* to get 2 points, so you'd have to spend both of take damage from both.

I must have misread the 'Rapid Recovery' section on pg 150. If so, then he can't do it. As for dying for Power, Omar does have the health levels to do so, but I thought I remembered that health levels from doing so, can't be regenerated. If they can, Omar will gladly burn off a couple of his bruised levels to get the qp's.

Those qps wouldn't add to your pool, they just let you use your powers. I.e. use them or lose them.

Room is quite large. Approximately 70x50. There are statues and desks and other office furniture around the room. (Plenty of things to hide behind.) With most of the lights off it is also very very creepy with the statues all over the place.

There is no bottleneck in the room itself, but they have to come out of the elevator shaft, it is the only way in or out.

The null field expands out 50 feet in all directions from the door leaving only 15 feet or so of the opposite side of the room from the elevator outside the field. It also goes 40 feet or so up into the elevator shaft.

Meri has covered the nullifier with stone, it is actually slightly effecting the field, but only very marginally. She would have to remove the stone to move the nullifier, and it's a bit too late for that now.

This is a good spot. Lots of confusing statues to present multiple targets, the nuller is well hidden, well shielded, and well positioned.

We'd have found it hard to get a better spot, much less doing the whole thing in 8 minutes without juice.

It'd be a long distance Warp so that's 2 turns to turn it on and one to use it... and he's a bit busy. I'd have Lorean port down and then back up but we don't know if they have hypermove or anything.

Lorean knows the speed at which they are moving. My point is that 30 seconds is 10 turns. Plenty of time for Cody to get some juice, and i've been waiting for along time to actually, you know...*use* my powers. Honestly I wish we could just 'port the servers and flee but if we have to make a stand, I'd at least like to do what I am good at...

This battle isn't going to be between powered up individuals. They are going to be un-powered, and if you had all your powers, there would be no challenge at all. They'd be slaughtered and it would basically be murder, even if they were cannibals. 10 turns, 2 of which would be used in teleporting down then back up. 8 of which you would be sucking the quantum out of Lorean in what would likely not be a very pleasant manner. You don't have time to be gentle after all.

Besides, it's about the story of facing the baddies on equal un-powered footing. If I wanted to I could have Lorean, Michael and Morgan warp down and slaughter them once they are unpowered, but there's no drama in that.

I assume that powers which require no quantum to use are still good. I was specifically thinking of Body Modifications, Psy Shield and Armor. I do understand that in the actual field these would not work.

Well it's understood if you want the drama, but Cody is a Survivor...meaning if he has the opportunity to have an overwhelming advantage he will take it. He wants every ace he can have.

Also as a point of game mechanics, Q-leech is a multiple action power, meaning he could do several in a single turn if the target is willing especially. I don't need to spend 8 turns juicing. I could do it all in one turn, and I only really need two uses, would have to die for power just to use the first one, which would give me 4 and then another which would bring me up to 7, enough to Disorient 1 and Dominate a second. Seems dramatic enough to me...

That's "6 of which". Short warps are 1 turn, long take +1 prep and it takes one full turn just to walk through the gate. And this assumes that Morgan would cooperate which IMHO he wouldn't with Andrew the way he is.

Steve is actively trying to make it fall into line this way. Worse, he's expecting that when the field is up all of them become sane, just like Andrew. At that point, when they're powers are down and they're confused, he'll open up on them.

Don't forget Luck.

Burn a health level if you have to and really want it. It's concentration, it'd be a one time event.

Sky, there were other weapons in the vault that you could have grabbed. I said those three I detailed were the most powerful left, and that they were only moderate damage, but there are plenty more weapons some almost as powerful, I just didn't describe more for the sake of brevity. If you want you can have a blaster in each hand, but Morgan and Lorean aren't cooperating right now, they are in the med bay standing next to Andrew's bed worrying because he is turning into goo.
