I'd like to bring up something that troubles me.

Gabriel Law is a rock star, a millionaire and a Mega-App 5 nova, yet he has NO Influence whatsoever. I like the concept of him, and I think he's short-changed on the potential influence he could have.

I won't even get into Summer Solstice.

I like Gabe as a person, despite the rules-lawyering which he's been engaged in with every little fucking thing at the moment. I will admit that I'm only bringing this up because out of the blue, he attacked something I'd posted almost a week ago.

Again, I like the concept. I think that Gabe's player is cheating his character.

So please explain, to quote a not-so-illustrious Australian.

But I will trust you and that you are just wondering why Gabe who is the owner and CEO of one of the biggest enterprises in the world, dosen't have influence beyond the Business section of the world.

He only has Backing 2.

And it might be a bit petty, but I'm not backing down on this one.

Well, he basically is the owner by inheritance. Board of Directors have no actual reason to trust in the Playboy Rockstar, it makes sense to have a lower backing than usual because of it. But I will let Gabe's player state his reason.

Its worth nothing that he says in his profile he has no interest in fame. That doesn't sound like someone who would have a lot of influence to me.

Gabriel commited suicide in his Beverly Hills Mansion home.

Man, those are going to be some interesting fictions to read. Also does that mean I can stop working on the Pack member I'd thought of?

On a serious note, it is very hard to have a rational discussion about your character when you threaten to kill them every time someone has a cricitism of them. Are you allowed to criticize our characters, but not us yours? If the answer to that is no, that's fine. I just want to know the score here.

Too many cooks, too many interests, no focus, and his interests conflict.

Business? He's a born rich nova tallent mega-face (i.e. brainless).

Rock Star? He started rich didn't he? Doesn't spend much time doing it, presumably because he's usually off "dating" porn stars.

In short the world has been handed to him, and I as a business-or-music type don't really have any reason to listen to him. He's a rich playboy who choses to squander his potential.

For a more cannon example, I don't remember Totentanz having any influence.

Alright. There is a short answer and a long answer. I’ll give you both.

Short-
When I created the character after dumping everything in Mega-Appearance 5 I had nothing left over for other stuff. Had I 32 NPs to spend…

Long-
Gabriel Law was a drug addicted partying spoiled rich kid brat until about 3 weeks until his self-eruption. Seriously, would you grant a drunk, drug addicted spoiled brat ant measure of influence? Of course you would. I wouldn’t however.

So you have all noticed that I have done my absolute damnedest to portay a character that was absolutely turning his life in a 180 degrees. He had to EARN (I know it’s a foreign concept here on N!Prime, but try not to lose me) his influence by showing the world he was not that that spoiled kid anymore. Habitat For Humanity, Visiting Children’s Hospitals, Donating to charities, he was actually trying to change his image!

His backing of two was because he owned Law Enterprises. They might not have liked it, but they still had to back him, the lower rating represented his lack of trust and influence within his own company but how, as the CEO, he could force them to back him if need be.

Now, maybe you had, or had not noticed that thus far Gabriel hadn’t spent a single experience point he had earned. Why? Simple, because at the end of the year (the start of the next one) I was going to begin allocating dots in traits and backgrounds that best fit the work he had done to repair his image and win back the public’s faith in him. Things don’t happen over night. (well, I mean around here they do, because Dots are are a substitute for work, role-play, and common sense)

The only reason Summer wasn’t kicked out of Team Tomorrow already is because I had plans for her to removed by the end of June. She just needed to make it until then. Obviously she didn’t.

I didn’t attack. I mearly came out of the gate “Oh, come on!” Also, to be honest I didn’t even notice that date. Had I done so I prolly wouldn’t have bothered bringing it up. I thought it was a recent post.



Cheating how? By not placing dots in a background so that I may supplement them for role-playing? See this is why I’m killing off my characters. This place is like a bad relationship. I play differently than the rest of you, and every time I question someone’s logic I get told I’m a Troll, and that I’m attacking them. Or as Noir so eloquently put it today “Shove off.”

So, that’s what I’m doing, I’m shoving off. We’re (all of you and I) never going to reach a happy medium (if it hasn’t happened in over a year it’s never going to) between us so it’s best if I just sit on the sidelines and giggle at your antics from the chat room.

I’m not here to ruin your fun and it’s never been my intent to do so. Since we are obviously at an impasse and there are several of you and only one of me it’s only logical I be the one to go. I haven’t the time, nor a patience to deal with this place, the people, or the events.

IMHO Summer & Gabe were pretty three dimentional and well represented by their dots. I.e. RP should reflect your dots, and dots should reflect your RP.
