Puppet mastery
Level:2
Quantum Minimum:1
Dice Pool:Intelligence+puppet mastery
Range:(Quantum+power rating)*3 meters
Area:N/A
Duration:Concentration
Effect:Nova can animate a certain type of puppet
Multipile Action:No
Description:The Nova may animate a type of puppet chosen at character creation(eg marionette, anamatronic, sock puppets). This functions identically to the animation technique, except the Nova is limited to the chosen style of puppets, and puppet mastery is used in place of molecular manipulation.
Example:Kathputli Bhats, marionette master, needs a diversion. Animating a collection of puppets, he sends them to dog-pile the front door guards, while he seeks in the back

Plant mastery allows you to use the animate technique on plants, I thought it could be streched to include other things. This is more a request for comment rather than a request for it to be added. I appologise if this is in the wrong forum.

I think this can be accomplished by using the Animate technique as a stand alone power with a weakness of "Targets only Puppets."

The Q minimum is 1 instead of 5. Even the Animate technique, with the weakness: "Targets only Puppets", would still require a Quantum of 5, or even 4. I think Puppet Master is an atempt at creating a weaker animation power with a limited target, without the necessary high level of Quantum.

Q-min would likely be 4. Dispite the name, this power isn't actually creating the element in question (I could use the same comment for Nature Mastery).

If we call it an Anima technique (and I don't see a reason why the "Animate" technique couldn't be used via Elemental Anima), then basically we have a different name for...

Elemental Anima: Puppets, weakness only for Animation (-5). Making this a level 2, q-min 4 power.

That's strict and by the book. If I were ST I'd drop the q-min to 1, but I'm not so I can't do that.

Hmm... that would be two -5 weaknesses... did we just drop this to a level 1 power?

Thank you for your comments. I had not thought of using a watered down elemental anima, as I disregard most of the players guide (esp weaknesses) after I created a rating 5 quantum bolt that costs nothing to use for 8 np (but very short range). Its nice to see weaknesses actualy work.
