The first post is going to be up shortly, I'm getting impatient, and if I don't get it done now I may not get it done this week. In essence, the mechanism of things will be this: I'll make one "big post", that is, a plot-advancing post, every day or so. In between, you may post your interactions with the scene and I'll reply with moderate frequency, or when time allows. Use common sense, don't steamroll characters of players with different schedules and stuff.

PS. And if you think the Blip & Ping avatars are silly, just wait until they pop up in game.

PPS: Use this thread for posting OOC about the game running.

Okay, I'm just waiting for Ingot right now so we can advance a little bit. After all, you're supposed to arrive within minutes of each other, game-time.

Oh, and Rapido, dear, Ethiopia isn't terraformed yet. Utopia's Central HQ is in Bahrain, not Addis Abba. I did mention this.

In the meantime maybe we could hash out some pre-game information for our characters. It seems like we're all playing it like we've met at least once before Chapter 0.

For example, I was thinking of playing Rapido as having a schoolboy crush on Precious. This would complicated by the fact tha he idolizes Pax, her boyfriend and trains (infrequently but intensely) with him due to their similar power profile (kenetic energy, of course Pax is orders of magnitude more powerful).

More generally, when did each character arrive in Venice? Did they meet just yesterday or have they been training as a group for weeks? Are Rapido and Dougal allways fooling around like that? What do the economist (Ingot) and the political scientist (Vajas) think of each other?

Stuff like that. Have at it.

Unfortunately Ingot lost the last ten years worth of memories. So he would have not remembered someone if he had met them in that time. It is possible that Ingot, as an investment banker, would have been known by Vajas.

Ingot, an American, has two homes, a penthouse in New York, NY; and a palatial flat in London. Before he was a nova, he had a 5 in resources. Being that wealthy, as a baseline, can garner some fame. Now that he can create gold at a whim, his resources are essentially unlimited.

Ingot just recently arrived in Venice. He read through all the background dosiers of everyone before the meeting. He knows who they are, and their histories (sans secrets and Cipher). Other than that, he is just meeting everyone for the first time. (to him at least)

Unless Mille says otherwise, I'm assuming that Dougal has been working for Utopia for about a year. Probably spent several months proving himself doing heaving lifting duties with his telekinesis before being transferred to T2M europe for duty. Spent the last several weeks training in Venice and waiting for the new team to be assigned it's first mission.

It's very likely that Dougal and Rapido do things like that all the time. He works hard and is serious and sometimes has a hard edge, but at the same time he plays just as hard as he works, some would say more so.

Precious has been with the Project since early 2000 and is already a relatively experienced member of Team Tomorrow. participating (with Millie's permission) in the takedown of the Five Families in NYC. She would likely know of everyone by name and reputation and sight, if not personally, and be aware of their surface thoughts (so she'd know about Rapido's crush).

I have been resurrected by the arcane powers of ridiculous amounts of chocolate, and at least for one hour now I'm back online (sooner than I predicted, too). I'm sorry for disappearing on all of you like that. Some things are bigger than this. The situation is normalizing, though, and I'll definetly be back to normal by the end of next week.

It is Millie/Cain's game to ST. If he decides that someone else can be the ST, then great. But having someone else come in and 'take over' without permission is wrong. Misrepresentation in an electronic medium is one thing...theft is another.

As for letting it die...that would also be Cain's decision.

I am in, whether Cain stays on as ST or not.

Sounds like a dead game to me then. It's a shame too. I really liked this character concept. It's a little twinkish, but very cool. Anyone want to 'Start a new game' in place of this one; changing the concept of course to avoid theft? I'd love to continue playing this character.

Rapidos player here:

I just got through reading about Millie/.Cain. If he was so fucking bored he coulda spent more time actually running the game he promised us. What an utterly crappy and pointless thing to do, eh?

Dougal, I'd be interested in playing or maybe even running another game. I'd really like to do an Aberrant (the faction) game, incorporating a few bits from "A Breed Apart" and the rest springing from my own fertile and disturbing imagination. Anyone else have any ideas?

I'm running the Long March game so I have enough on my plate as far as running games goes, but I would love to play Dougal in a game. (That's right Dougal and Fox are the same person, but then I never claimed they weren't, nor had any OOC interactions with anyone as Dougal. Just for the record.)

But yeah, it might be interesting to do a game involving A Breed Apart and 2nd gen characters.

Oh, I wasn't thinking about brining 2nd gen's in, except maybe as child NPC's. I was thinking more along the lines of occasional "Delivery Boy" missions. A Breed Apart wouldn't form the central themes of the game.

I am going to make a new ruling for Online Games regarding this. If someone running a game disappears in mid game the players have the option to continue running the game using one of their own members as the ST. The games belong to the players as much as they do to the ST. To be eligible for this, the ST must either announce his/her intent to not continue the game or be MIA for longer than 6 weeks.

I don't know that anyone would actually want to continue this particular game, but I disagree with Ingot. Let's be realistic here, this isn't some intellectual property that could make the owner money in any way. This is an online game based on content owned by someone else. I'm not interested in taking anything away from anyone, but when you play in the sandlot with other kids and walk away from your creation you have to accept whatever happens to it.

Now that it seems Millie/Cain will not be running this game I will continue to play. I actually like my character and am still interested in playing.

So if anyone is still game for it, count me in.

Looks like most of us are still interested in playing in the game. We just need someone to step up and run it. I think the consensus is that changing the game to suit a new ST would be acceptable if someone will volunteer.

(I would do it if I weren't already running a game.)

I can't ST either. I am too tired when I get off work, and those days I work, I have no time. But I am willing to wait for an outsider to take the reigns. I like Ingot's character concept, and want to see how he evolves.

I've already recieved nomination from Robert Lambert up there, and I'd like to ST this game. This is a role call of all willing participants. If the lot of you want to play under me, Say your name. If the majority of you respond, I will ask for moderator status from Chosen.

I will scrap all that has been done in game so far, but the universe will stay the same. I don't have much knowledge of AeonVerse, but I will try my hardest.

I am mainly on during weekend, night hours. I do occasionally visit during the week, but nothing huge.

All the characters who were in the game before are invited. They recieve first chance to the seats in the game. There were seven of you, correct? Precious, Dougal, Flux, Ingot, Eisenfaust, Rapido, Vejas? Just say the word, and you're in. I've already read through the posted information about each of the characters, and I approve. I'll need character sheets, of course.

Anyway, give me some feedback. If you'd prefere not me, I can step down too.
