As Georgi and Lily try to console Valerie, the sound of rushing wind surrounds them. A few moments later it dies down and they can hear them. The skittering of dozens of legs and the chittering of mandibles. From the other end of the hallway a trio of large rotweiler-sized jet black spiders appear, one on the floor, and one on the wall to the left and the other on the roof. Their eyes glow a sickly green, and on each of their abdomens a great red hourglass seems to visibly burn. They regard the three humanoids before them with a storm of chittering and then rush forward.

Lily straightens up and steps to interpose herself between the spiders and Valerie. There's a suggestion of a heat haze around her abruptly, though it's subtle.

"Stand back guys," she says distantly, most of her attention on the spiders. "I'll take care of these things." Her bright red mop of hair starts to whicker around as if stuck in a wind only she could feel, and blue-white energy crackles around her hand.

She suddenly springs forward with a loud shout, and a sizzling actinic blue beam of light blasts from her hand to one of the oncoming spiders!

His heart raced. It had been a while since he'd seen any sort of real combat.

A swishing sound is heard as the formerly unarmed Coach produces a submachine gun from underneath his jacket. He aims it at the head of beastie on the roof. Using his weapon with both hands, he fires off two automatic burst.

Her senses sharpened when she felt the creatures incoming, the chittering of their fangs and patter of their legs on the floor, Lily got infront of her before she could see them well but both Lily and Georgie had sprung to action, Lily distorded the air around her like a hot stove would do on summer, and Valerie could hear the inperceptible hum of energy gathering on her hands.

All this was interrupted by Coach Gerogi pulling out a submachine gun and firing into the spider-like creatures direction, Valerie couldn't hold it anymore and broke off the necklace that she had been wearing around her neck.

"Stock der Zauberei, change!" the small pendant, a pink pearl encrusted old style key hummed as it grew and changed into a baton the size of a walking cane, with a fist sized pearl on each side and circuits going up and down it, in perfect German coming from both pearls it said "Ya."

Twirling SdZ on her hands, a pink glow enveloped her and the Baton, while it kept whirling infront of herself and besides Lily, the swirling air blowing her hair behind her and her body tensing for the attakc that was obviously to come.

The retort of Georgi's weapon echoed in the hallway, as a hail of gunfire hammered the spider on the ceiling. A quartet of shells drilled into the spider's head and blasted out the abdomen with a sickening "Splorch" The spider fell to the ground, the holes still smoking in it's head. Right behind it The blue beam of energy bathed the spider on the wall. All four of its rightside legs vanished in the cerulean beam sending it crashing to the floor, spewing green blood-like fluid from it's legs and Chittering at a volume like a thousand cicadas.

The final spider surged forward, heedless of its fallen comrades. It launched into the air and from the tip of its abdomen Webbing spewed forth covering the three in razowire webbing. It sliced into their flesh as the Spider landed and drew tought the webbing. It's chittering quickened as it continued towards its now trapped prey.

Its web attack does 28 damage and entangles each of you in a web that has fifteen hp. Until you free yourselves from the web, you cannot defend and are at -3 to attacks. The webbing seems to stop in midair a few inches away from Lily's skin, and a blue corona flares around her. When the spider draws the web tight, it sinks through the light around Lily, but slowly, slicing through her mismatched, and frankly kind of ridiculous, clothes, but not her skin.

With a snarl that seems unlike her usual sunny self, Lily twists at the waist, and a bright blue beam of light extends from her hand to about three feet long. She uncoils and brings her arm around, sweeping the sword-like beam around in a wide arc.

(No damage taken, attempting to cut through the webbing with my extra action on turn 1. Invisible Castle seems to be down...you can roll for me (2d6+4) or I can try again later, I guess.)

The satisfied grin changes to a frustrated scowl, as Georgi is caught by the web. As it tightens, Georgi feels it bite into his skin and slice. Blood begins to pour from the open wounds as they are lacerated, soaking his clothing. However, as soon as the wounds are made, they close immediately. His clothing, on the other hand does not. It remains torn and drenched in blood.

He manages to move his hand downward to his ankle and grab his knife. Pulling up with his arm, he tries to cut himself free. Once free he will grab hs HK and resume his extermination duties. If not, Georgi will continue to cut.

Georgi's hands were free, and that was all he needed. He raised his weapon and shot off an automatic burst of fire at the uninjured demon-spider. With any luck, he would be able to incapacitate or kill it before it got to them.

He noticed that Lily was free. At lest one of the students was safe...for now.

([4+1+8-1]=12 on attack roll. 23 damage/bullet. Not sure how the ammo works with automatic fire. If he needs to reload he will slap in another magazine. With Portable Armory, it is automatic..I think)

The hail of gunfire misses the oncoming spider due to a few strands of webbing interfering with Georgi's accuracy slightly. The hammer clicks twice as the magazine is emptied and Georgi instinctively ejects it and slams a fresh mag into it.

((OOC wait for Valerie to free herself as she still has next initiative and it's likely she managed to free herself with her remaining actions last turn.))

Valerie is covered in the razorsharp silk, but it is stopped by the glow around her, the twirling baton stops for second and the pearl-like orbs on the ends start glowing as Valerie uses the Baton like a sword to remove the remaining threads. Moving towards the Spider like creature Valerie let's loose with a powerful axe kick, aiming right onto it's torso, aiming for the kill.

Valerie's avicious kick connects sending the spider back, its front right leg now seemingly useless. It chitters madly and for the first time the three of them get a good look ant the massive glowing fangs tipping its mandibles.

"HYAH!" Lily shouts, and rushes forward towards the two spiders, lunging forward with the strange energy sword in her hand, then spinning in a quick circle to strike at the second one as well!

Georgi growls in anger at his missed shot. This time, he finishes cutting away the webs and once free, he resumes his firing. This time he will fire single shots, one at each, so that he minimizes his chance of hitting his teammates.

Once again Georgi's shot at the moving spider misses, though this time it's more due to the Spider having actually jumped over him and Lily. It made haste and sought to sink it's glowing fangs into Valerie, though it landed a bit too short to succeed. The other half-limbed spider died as a single bulled caused it's head to explode in a fountain of green gore.

The Glowing fangs did not intimidate Valerie, as she stepped back from the bite of the spider, Valerie dropped the Baton by her side, lowering her stance Valerie punches the Spider-like-creature upwards digging her knuckles into the soft torso of the creature. Then, taking advantadge of the momentum of her return movement Val twists her body into a full turn in the air, doing a full 360 jump as she axe kicks the creature into the concrete floor cracking it profusely, landing in a single leg in a crouched position Valerie rasises with a bounce and vring down her heel on the spider again, this time crushing the concrete under it and having it fall into the basement of the school building, the sound of debris colliding into the concrete floor in the basement and the 'thud' of the spider falling.

Screaming something intellegible in a slur of German and Spanish, Valerie brings up the Baton and points it towards the hole in the floor, toughly where the Spider would have landed and a powerful blast of Pink energy goes out of it and into the hole, by the sound after it, the body of the offending insect has been disposed of.

Breathing hard, Valerie turns to Lily and Georgie "We need to find Kai and Amaya, I don't think they can can defend themselves from something like this!" Valerie's eyes reflect determination that was not there, and for those who can truly read people, they reflect an abject fear of the situation that is fueling her concer for others.

Lily blinks, a bit taken aback by the level of violence Valerie's dishing out. She brushes her bangs out of her eyes and the strange phenomena...laser sword and distortion field...vanish as if they'd never been. Only some slices in her coat and pants remain as reminders of their close call.

"I dunno...I would have said the same about you two," she points out, walking over to peer down the hole in the floor. Then she straightens and nods.

"Still, all this stuff going on...it's gotta be Kai. I figure if we follow those funny lights and noises, they'll be leading us the right way. Lets go!"

Calmly tucking the submachine gun back into his jacket, he looks at the hole in the ground where the spider used to be. "Don't you think that was ovekill" he says to her with a wry smile.

He reaches down to his gym bag, and removes a metallic case. Methodically and with militaristic precision, he assembles a large rifle that was contaned within. He slaps in a large magazine filled with 6 inch bullets, cocks the charging handle back, and slings it across his back. "Let's go find Kai."

It occurs to each of them at the moment where Kai could possibly be. The girl he loved spent her time in the library, and he was just finding out he'd been lied to about it, it seemed fitting and right that he would go to where they'd spent so much time together to grieve.

Behind them they heard more chittering, there were more of them this time, and from the depth of the sounds they were much larger than the ones they'd just exterminated. All around them they could hear the wailing wind, moaning in despair. The gateway was unlocked and soon ALL those within would be free, instead of those weak enough to slip through the cracks.

"Come on!" Coach Illiyev shouted to the other two. "We have to get to the library!" He looked back down the hall where the demon-spiders came from, and pulled his submachine gun from his jacket. He motioned for the other to hurry and move. "Run!"

Georgi was looking for a long halway with decent lighting near the library to fend off the hordes of spiders. One there, he will set up a sniper position and start making head shots. He hoped the others could run as fast as he could.

Though fast on her feet, Lily was clearly not as quick in a dead run as Georgi...not, at least, until she leaped into the air and surged ahead in midair, without doing gravity the favor of coming back down!

"Library!" she repeats smartly. "On my way!"

She glanced back to make sure Valerie wasn't falling behind.

Valerie ran behind Lily, she might not be a tremendous runner, but she could hold herself, with a gap, but hold herself. As soon as the the hallways permitted Valerie actually started running...in the air?

Valerie held her pink baton like a drowning man would hold a life saver, and with it she stepped on thin air like there was a step in there and soon caught up to Lily. "Faster this way!" Breaking through one of the windows Valerie jumped between two invisible walls upwards until the library came into view.

When Valerie went out the window she saw the giant demon there and got a great view of Kongou summoning the Null Viper. At the doorway of the Library building she saw Amaya, holding an unconscious and glowing Kai.

Georgi quickly found a good point to set up his Ambush. It was at an elbow in the halls. there was one major hallway connected to the outside, and then the long one they had just come down. It offered both a line of escape and a good firing zone. No doors at his back and only the one exit to his right as he turned around. At the far end of the hallway he saw legs the size of small trees come into view. A dozen smaller spiders huddled under the legs of one that only just fit in the hallway. It's eyes burned red, it regarded the three slain spiders with a look of sadness and then chittered in murderous rage. It began rushing down the hallway at full speed.

Lily twisted and turned in midair, torn between helping Georgi and following Valerie to Kai.

"Coach! Do you have this alright, or do you need some help?!"

He could hear his breathing, as he matched the sight rising with his inspirations,m and the slight dropping of the sight with his expirations. When the target moved into range, he could fire several shots between each breath. In and out, over and over, as the sounds from the hallway grew louder.

Georgi was surprised at the size of the legs as they poked around the corner. When he saw the rest of the beast, he had to concentrate to maintain his breathing. It was large, ugly and getting angry as it looked at the corpses of the onse they killed earlier.

"Guard me and help me kill these arachnids." Georgi said in a flat voice, as he maintained his target with the sniper rifle. The red eyes on the large spider made easy targets. The black bristling spider screamed and started rushing down the hall.

"BOOM!" The blast shook the area around Georgi as he pulled the trigger. "BOOM!" Another deafening blast shook the hallway.

With impossibly small movements, the spider actually managed to move it's head both times to avoid the pair of shots. Its fangs were clearly vissible and through his scope georgi could see the hairss on it's back actually concealed thousands of spines. These were ratttling and it came to a stop and seemed to flick its abdomen at his position. In his psistion he was unable to dodge the attack and felt the cloud of barbs launched from the spider's backside shred his back and flesh.

"Hai!"

Lily swoops around, cruising over the monstrous spider with her hands blazing with blue-white radiance. She spins in midair, launching a pair of bolts that momentarily cast the hallway in stark, electric light as they streak towards their target!

"Ungh!" Georgi grunted as the skin on his back was torn to pieces and his kidneys pierced. He could feel the blood starting to pool underneath him. It's metallic smell was starting to permeate the air. For Georgi, it meant that he would have to be more careful, and begin thinking of avoiding this new attack.

"BOOM!" Another blast shot forth from the large caliber rifle. The recoil pushing him back slightly, leaving a bloody streak on the linoleum tile.

"BOOM!"
The windows shook from the shockwave of the weapon's recoil. The blood streak on the ground grew longer, as he was sent hemoplaning back another foot. The muscles in his back tensed as he fired, and blood would squirt from the wounds, adding to the blood pool underneath. Soon though, his enhanced healing had closed off most of the wounds, and he the blood only trickled.

The combined effect of Lily and Georgi's attacks are catastrophic to the giant spider. It's legs and head disappear in green clouds even as it launches its own final attack. The storm of spines flies through the air and into six of the smaller spiders behind it, skwering them with dozens of needles. 2 of them drop dead, the spikes having penetrated their heads and into the brains. Both of them are splattered with gore from the attacks and the spiders seem at a loss without their leader.
